"No more La Quinta"

I had thought that La Quinta had high standards of cleanliness, economical prices and good service, but this one off of Coors Blvd. was quite substandard. No more La Quinta for me. This La Quinta was even run by the corporate office, unlike the others around town!
The staff were not that nice, and they raised their prices even for single people, so a regular room is now about 100$ per night. I tried to ask for a cheaper room, but was frowned upon by the reception. I had to deal with the 100$ room.
At first glance, my room seemed quite clean and there were lots of towels and a coffee maker inside. The A/C and TV worked well and all of the lights worked. There was also a desk inside with a phone and outlets.
But when I went to use the bathroom, I noticed a sneaker print on the toilet seat and there were human hairs on the toilet cover. The shower and sink were clean at least. All of the towels were clean. The beds were clean too. I did not leave a tip for the cleaning person.
The walls and carpet did have past stains on them, but it was not that noticeable.
Then there was the issue with the 'free' Internet. The Internet barely worked at night and barely worked during the day. The reason was obvious. The manager had paid for the cheapest band width available - and of course, when lots of guests are trying to access the Internet at the same time - it became impossible to use it. I could only check my e-mail once due to the Internet service being so slow.
There is a pool for kids and a gazebo in the center. I sat in the gazebo for a couple minutes until I realized that it hadn't been cleaned for a long time. My hand touched something nasty while sitting there, so I had to use the bathroom immediately in order to wash off 'the stuff' on my hands.
The continental breakfast was also quite substandard. The coffee was good, but the juices were the typical sugary stuff found on the aisles at most supermarkets, while the generic, small white eggs looked like they were bought at Wal-Mart, and the bread and bagels seemed a little on the tough side.
Usually La Qunita has shown better standards, but I guess the competition is getting fierce, the economy is tanking for a lot of people, and so the owners have to cut corners. Around this hotel were lots of other chain motel operations.
Avoid smell of smoke in non-smoking room, dirty bathtubs, ants in the bed, understaffed front desk. Suites do not have capacity for connecting rooms. The management had one night clerk on a Saturday night when there was no vacancy and she could not keep up with all the issues. Do NOT stay at this hotel!
Located just off the I-40 and Coors Blvd., this hotel is easy to find. We had no problems with the staff, the cleanliness of the room/bathroom, nor the common rooms. La Quinta is my "go-to" place to stay, and this one did not disappoint. If you're looking for a nice place to stay with great value, this delivers.
the hotel was clean and the room was comfortable, the check in was fast and friendly, the receptionist was in conversation with the security guard when we arrived but this stopped and I had a conversation with the guard, we arrived late so didn't see much, the only thing was that the free breakfast finished at the time they said it would and as I was a few minutes late I didn't have breakfast, couldn't even get a coffee as no cups where left out. they were still cleaning up when I arrived at the breakfast room.
This is another property that is not among the newer style Hotels, but it is in such pristine condition, that it's appearance belies it's age. It is a five storey building, located just off tha Interstate, on a side street, with a number of other Hotels. The huge grounds don't offer a lot of green spaces, but the ones that are there are all well maintained, and include an area for pet exercise. The spacious lobby/breakfast area is bright, and airy, and the breakfast section has a breakfast bar, four seat tables, and chairs, and an area with a sofa, and comfortable chairs, There is a courtyard, just off the breakfast area, which has a patio wwith tables chairs, and umbrellas. There is also a gazebo, and an outdoor swimming pool, and walkways with lots of trees, bushes, and flowers. My room,in addition to the king bed, had a separate console, for fridge, and micre, a contour work station, easy chair, six drawer dresser, and bed-side tables, complete with wall mountede lights. The bathroom had a large counter, giving you plenty of room, for your morning preparations. All the doors, woodwork, and carpeting.were spotless, as were the hallways. Breakfast offered no hot items, other than waffles, but they did have fruit cocktail, fresh fruit, selection of cereals, breads, and rolls, and yogurt, fresh juice, and hot coffee. I enjoyed my stay here. Jerry...Paris Ontario...Canada
