I just finished a 11 week stay at this hotel. I had no problems at all with the staff, hotel, and even the grounds.
I really do no now what this person below me is talking about.
All the staff especially Megan, were great, every helpful, very polite, ready and willing to be at your beck and call.
The rooms were very spacious and very clean. the breakfast needs a little more veriety, but that is the corporations desitions not the staff.
This guy must have been a head case, and talked to them in a very rude manner so he got the same treatment and did not like it.
I honestly did not experience any thing of what he is saying. this was my 4th stay this year.
"Disappointing stay...think twice before booking here!"

A La Quinta traveler |
The girl at the front desk was obviously having a bad day because she barely even greeted me upon my arrival and she had a frown on her face during the entire check-in process. She was rude and unpleasant. I had also requested a late check-out of just 1 hour and the gentleman at the front desk was very unhelpful and insensitive to my request. He shared with me that the hotel was short-staffed and that was the reason I couldn't be given a late check out. The hotel being short-staffed is not a customer problem...that is a hotel scheduling issue...period.
Additionally...I have stayed at many La Quinta Inn's, even this one before on separate occasions and the food was the worst that I have ever experienced. My son had a waffle and I had a frozen sausage biscuit, which are typically pretty hard to screw up, but the food tasted horrible and the presentation was completely unappealing.
My suggestions to improve this hotel? Find pleasant and helpful workers. Additonally, find a better source for your breakfast selections and make the surroundings more appealing. The tables were filthy, the food below sub-par and any positive effort in presentation was completely lacking. Also...this is a pet-friendly hotel. Please make sure that the dog poop is cleaned up off the floors inside the building. Walking into a hotel side entrance that has dried dog poop that no one bothered to clean up is completely unacceptable. I have stayed at very nice La Quinta Inns...but this one my friend needs great improvement!
This is our second stay(of three nights) and we will be back in August for three more. The rooms are clean and good sized. Refrigerators that keep drinks really cold and hot relaxing showers. The breakfast bar is better than most..... a good selection. The location is convenient to the Mall and some local attractions. Lots of pillows and the beds are comfortable.
recently traveled to Raleigh for a dog activity and stayed at this La Quinta. My room was spacious and clean. I liked having a refrigerator and microwave, the, staff was friendly, small dog exercise area was stocked with bags and trash container, breakfast was fine. For the price I thought it was a Great value (I travel a lot with my dog(s) and will definitely stay here in the future.)
We stayed two nights at this La Quinta and were very pleased by the location, service and price. It's located on 'Mt. Hotel' in the Crabtree section of Raleigh with about eight other hotel properties. It was clean and, even though our room was on the first floor in the back, it was relatively quiet because a small forested hill blocked a lot of (but not all) traffic noise. There are some bus groups that use this La Quinta, so be warned that there is some hall noise, especially if they're young folks. The room appointments were modern and pleasant. There is a very nice small pool and in-ground Jacuzzi and beautiful landscaping. Next to the hotel is part of the 28 mile-long Raleigh Greenway, a walking/biking/running nature trail winding alongside and under roads in the city. Signs recommend not using the "tunnel" parts of the trail at night. It's good advice. It feels a little creepy in those parts at night without a sidearm at your disposal. The Crabtree Valley Mall is less than a mile away and the fancier North Hills shopping area is a couple of miles from the hotel.
A curious note was the sudden smell of cigarette smoke in our non-smoking room; it seemed to come in the bathroom vent for 5 minutes then disappeared. Also, the bathroom had French doors with a slight gap between them; they did not lock and were certainly not soundproof. If you are shy about bathroom habits, it may be a slight inconvenience to you if someone else is in the room. There was no vent fan to remove shower "steam"; maybe that's the reason for the extra-wide doors?
There was a decent free breakfast in the lobby: coffee, tea, milk, and a couple of kinds of juice, cups of raspberry yogurt, cereal (though it appeared to be only Cheerios), oatmeal packets, English muffins, some not-bad microwaveable sausage biscuits, some not-good plastic wrapped muffins, fruit (only Red Delicious apples this stay), and, surprising to me, make-it-youself waffles that were very good. Unfortunately, the instructions for making the latter did not emphasize that the waffle irons had to be liberally sprayed with a PAM-like product. The very kindly staff had to constantly pry stuck waffles out of the irons and show us dum-dums how to use them. Once they did that, the waffles turned out fine. The management should print bold instructions in the waffle area to cut down the mess and waste of time to their staff. "Butter" for the waffles was icky "dairy spread", a most minor complaint. If you couldn't find some reasonable nutrition from this free breakfast, you really are a crab.
