"Urine Town"

I have qualified for Gold Status through LaQuinta`s reward program. I usually travel with both cats and dogs, and love their pet policy. They do not charge extra for pets, or have a weight/size limit for dogs. I frequent the Flagstaff AZ location, but had to fly to Denver for business and thought it would be convenient to use my points and stay the night in Colorado Springs at the La Quinta Garden of the Gods location on Sinton. This is an older cinder-block hotel with outside hallway doors. Upon check-in, I was told that there was no upgrade available for a room with a micro/fridge. I went to my room and threw my bag on the bed. Then I noticed that the bed linens looked rumpled. I pulled back the covers, and it had obviously been slept in. At this point I was NOT sleeping in the room but morbid curiosity drew me to the bathroom. The ick factor multiplied exponentially when I saw that the toilet rim was covered in urine. I speed-dialed the Front Desk and they managed to find me a room with a micro/fridge that a maid had actually breezed through. Maybe this was just a horrific oversight, maybe a maid needs the boot. In any case, I would consider car-camping over staying here.

"Comfortable, Quiet, Clean & Dog Friendly."

Flagstaff hotels can be hit or miss - usually a miss. But this one is a definite keeper. It's clean, safe, up to date, quiet, and dog friendly. What I really liked is that they don't charge an extra dog fee. They have a designated dog walking area. There are LOTS of other dogs families staying. Our room was super clean, the beds are super comfortable. Lots of good channel choices too. I didn't give LQ 5 stars for 2 reasons - which are not really a big deal: the towels are small and thin and the breakfast doesn't offer a lot of options. Flagstaff hotels take a beating - and they should probably redo the elevator - but it has to be really hard to maintain properties in this town.

"Great place to stay"

I stayed in the La Quinta early March 2014. It was really good in shape, rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. It is very close to WalMart and the NAU (walking distance). You can even walk to downtown Flagstaff (2 miles). The breakfast is very delicious, you can make your own waffles, get fresh yogurt and fruits as well as toast and muffins and corn flakes. juice, coffee and milk are available to drink. You have a little pavilion next to the pool where you can sit, relax and read a book. WiFi reception was good. I decided to stay a few days longer in Flagstaff and this hotel since the La Quinta really was great. As a single doing a roadtrip the hotel price is always one major point to consider. The pricing is the only point that could be better for this La Quinta. I used Hotwire so the price for me was ok.

"Clean, modern, great staff"

Modern, very clean. Staff was awesome. Got there too early, so we went out and they called us when the room was ready (30minutes). Once in our room (10minutes) they called the room to see if everything was ok with the room. The bed was so comfortable. Continental breakfast.

"Cleanliness problem"
3 of 5 stars Reviewed Jul 12, 2014

It's hard to go wrong with La Quinta, but I would not stay here again. I was travelling with my parents who have dogs. While my room was clean, theirs still had a cleaning detergent left all over the floor in the bathroom. The problem is that their dog ingested some of it and had to be rushed to the pet hospital, which resulted in a $500 pet bill, having to stay an extra day at the hotel (which they did not compensate us for and we have not heard back from upper management-- and that was almost a week ago), and we had to still pay for the hotel at our next location even though we were still in Flagstaff waiting on the dog to convalesce at the pet hospital.
