"Not for the business traveller"

This hotel was chosen because I had a short business related trip to the area and they offered breakfast, a free shuttle, gym, and internet. The only truth to that statement was that breakfast was served each morning, but it was a paltry selection compared to many other similar hotels. A limited starchy choice of bread, pastry, bagel, or waffle was available, but no milk choices, yogurts, protein sources, or fresh fruit. The gym consisted of a stationary bike and weight system- no cardiac, yoga space, exercise balls, free weights, or elliptical. So it was a great gym for people who like to sit. The "free shuttle" only operates on limited, non-business hours, something like 0830-1600, which got me neither to or from any of my appointments. The alternative is using one of two local cab companies, during which drivers directly asked for tips and cab fare, while the LaQuinta front desk insisted that "some trips" are free for guests. For what I've spent on cab fare in 3 days, I could've rented a nice midsize. Last, the internet- or lack thereof. I've had service exactly once in 3 days. Granted, there was a storm, but the modems only reach rooms on floor 1-4 (not up to 6, where I was originally assigned) and the Tech line insists that LaQuinta desk clerks are responsible for resetting modems and troubleshooting the signal- which they never did. I used my phone for business email and took my computer to a coffee shop- quite an endeavor. The facilities were clean and well kept, the housekeeping mediocre, but mostly I was frustrated to be a business traveler at a familiar chain and receive none of the offered services. Front desk staff are new to the area and unable to provide running maps, tips for safety, directions to restaurants or sightseeing, so again, I relied on the cab drivers. I would've used the internet, but that was unavailable.
I've been a loyal LaQuinta customer for years but I arrived in Lubbock due to a horrible accident to my son. We tolerated them for 10 days my room was cleaned 2 times completely 6 days they made only 1 of the 2 beds and folded wet towels and put them back on the shelf.2 days they didn't clean it at all. When I complained to the manager she was very unconcerned to say the least. This stay in Lubbock will be the last time I will stay at a LaQuinta because of the unsatisfactory results ot the incompetent management.
We had an amazing experience! Very clean great room for the cost ! It was a pleasant experience that we will do again next year ! The service was friendly and knowledgable and the breakfast was a nice variety
we had 2 rooms reserved, upon arrival we were checked into a room that was not cleaned. they moved us to a room that was very smelly. it was like sleeping in an ashtray. we had requested non smoking rooms, the clerk said that all the rooms on that floor smelled, everyone complains about them. that is the worst LaQuinta we have ever stayed in, I redeemed points on one room and we paid for the other one. I don't consider that much of a reward. I really think someone need to go check it out especially room #505. Room 523 was not as bad. when we checked out the clerk told us that they really need to do something because all the 5th floor smells, everyone always complains.
I came to this la quinta for the weekend because we needed to service my wifes car and thought we'd make a weekend of it. We brought our 2 dogs which was free of charge which was great. Everything else was just very average. The rooms had a moldy odor. The room in general was not very clean at all. I felt quite nasty being in it. Its unfortunate because I generally like la quinta hotels. Oh, also, there are always kids from out of town schools running around the hotel so, if you're looking for a quite stay, I wouldn't exactly recommend this hotel.
