"Horrible Customer service and deception"

We stayed at this hotel for two nights on a weekend to go see an event called Afterschock. approximately eighty percent of the customers that stayed at the La Quinta that weekend were going to Afterschock. The hotel gave us a parking permit for one car for the time we stayed. We checked out at 11am on sunday and asked the front desk if our parking permits would cover us until the end of the day (the permit did not say how long it was valid). The front desk staff ASSURED us that we would be safe to keep our car parked there. Well, they lied! We came back after a long day and our car was gone! They towed us! We went to the front desk and the lobby was full of angry customers. it cost us well over $400 to get our car back, not to mention the additional hours of waiting and stress after a very long weekend. Im not a person who gets upset easily, but this was just wrong on so many levels. How could they do this to their customers? Apparently they do not care about repeat business. Our permit did not have a date that it was valid through anywhere on it, so we asked if it was ok to stay park there for the rest of the day... and we trusted them. Additionally, there was NOTHING posted about being towed in the parking lot, nor was there anything in our contract that we signed stating that acknowledged their parking polices. As far as the rooms- The room below par. it had a funky smell and the beds were very uncomfortable. The also never cleaned our room while we were there.

"Not bad... comfortable beds"

We took a family trip to California, and Sacramento was one of the stops. This hotel was... ok... The entire hotel is supposed to be nonsmoking, but one of the rooms we got had a horrible cigarette smell in it. Thankfully, we were given another room, but it wasn't right next door like we had hoped. I hope the previous renter of the room got a big fine for that, because that room was really bad. Early on one of the mornings, someone was walking in front of the room on their cell phone and was clearly not happy with whoever they were talking to and all we heard was a BUNCH of swearwords. Not really the best way to be woken up. Other than that, the hotel was ok, but I probably won't be staying there again.

"Disgusting bathrooms and predatory towing"

Only reason why we stayed here was for the fact that it's the closest to the Aftershock Festival. Will never make that same mistake again. Bathrooms were small and the shower was gouged and disgusting. Service desk was rude and unhelpful. After returning from the concert, car was towed from hotel parking lot without warning despite being guests for two nights. Once again, service desk was rude and unhelpful. Do not recommend.

"Great value!"

My husband had a business trip to Sacramento & I was able to tag along as were our 2 dogs. We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. The room was a great value. Clean with plenty of room for our 2 pooches! We were on the opposite side from the freeway & didn't ever hear any traffic noise. We received housekeeping services when requested. Everyone was friendly :-) The pet area is large & grassy with bags provided to clean up after your pets. Hotel sits adjacent to Discovery Park which was wonderful to take the dogs for daily walks. There does seem to be a large homeless population in Sacramento & the parks along the river "house" quite a few. I was never harassed by anyone or ever felt threatened being by myself. With no extra charges for pets, this is a great property to stay at. Will book again if we visit. Thanks for a wonderful stay :-)
