Taking my son to drop off at college, and we decided to spend the night in Roswell on the way to Santa Fe. La Quinta Roswell has been rated # 1 or #2 when I was researching hotels in town, so we decided to give it a try.
Cameron, at the front desk, was friendly, welcoming, and check-in was easy. Doule queen room.
While the beds were freshly made, they were old, sunk in, and uncomfortable. Furniture was outdated, faded, and chipped. Towels were clean, but restroom & sink area didn't appear clean.
Continental Breakfast area was not supervised and unclean from everyone using the area. Did not have breakfast after walking through and seeing this.
Would not stay here again.
We stayed two nights at the Laquinta Inn in Roswell. The staff was great, my dog enjoyed it, but there was too much smoke in the 4th floor hall for my allergies and for my daughter who has asthma.
I am wondering if there might be a smoke free floor.
Recently spent a week at the hotel. This is the third time I have stayed at this particular hotel and each time I have noticed an old musty smell. It is a pet friendly hotel, but I really think because of that, the carpets need to be replaced every 5 years instead of just cleaned. It smells moldy and I had trouble breathing. The pool was hit or miss. One day it had too much chlorine, the next day it felt like swimming in a dirty pond and the gutters smelled like dead mouse. The over all shape of the hotel is dirty. Definitely not worth the price.
I have stayed at a numerous LaQuinta motels and have always been pleased till now. The first night we stayed here on our way to CO our room was clean. Two weeks later on our way back home we stayed here again expecting the same, and the first room they gave us had a lot of black hairs on BOTH beds. I went down to the front desk and asked for another room and the lady said the only rooms they had left with two beds (which is what I needed) was a handicapped room so she moved us to that one. It had a smell to it that wasn't pleasant and the light switches and a/c cover had dirty finger smears on them which made me wonder how well the rest of the room had been cleaned. It was after 10pm at night and we had been traveling all day and all we wanted was a CLEAN comfortable room to get a good nights sleep in and I don't feel I received that. The people at the front desk were friendly and tried to fix it but Both rooms were dirty and fell below clean standards.
The staff, and amenities, i.e., pool and whirlpool were excellent. The room, bathroom and beds, were clean and very comfortable. Microwave, coffee maker and coffee and refrigerator were helpful during our trip. Great selection at breakfast and courteous staff. Price was reasonable for two adults and two children. Location of hotel was convenient, nearby restaurants, stores and gas stations. Would recommend to traveling families.
