"Not bad for the price"

We were just looking for a good hotel for the night after driving most of the day. The room was very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The rooms were not sound proof, however, and the free breakfast was adequate but not very tasty. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
My husband stayed here the week before me and had a completely different experience. I got the surly front desk employee who complained there was no one else to help her (with what? I was the only one in the lobby.) I didn't get the nice remodeled room like my husband. I got one that reeked, with worn out smelly carpet and a spider to greet me upon my arrival. Yecch.
Room smelled like pet odor remover. Dog barking down the hall. Why did the desk clerk bother to ask if I had pets? Old tube style TV. No room darkening curtains. Nice beds. Hot breakfast. Late checkout (noon)
When traveling I always try to stop at LaQuinta because of their pet policy. After traveling from California to Arkansas and Kansas I had faced many places that would not accept pets so I questioned the manager if the dogs create problems. His reply was that there are few problems and they welcome the traveler with pets. In fact he said most nights are "like a dog show." The room was well appointed with frig and microwave. The bed was comfortable and the internet connected without any problem. Breakfast was good. I intend to stay at LaQuinta whenever possible.
A nice place to stop on the drive from Scottsdale to Chicago. Pleasant and knowledgeable staff, clean rooms, good housekeeping and just off of I-40, Breakfast was typical but good and well serviced. We had two rooms; one for a friend with his dog and a regular room on a different floor. Both rooms were clean and well maintained. Plus an excellent value.
