La Quinta was a good value for money option away from the hustle and bustle of the strip. Staff were friendly, and the rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable. Surprisingly you cannot hear any noises from the airport even though when you're outside, they are literally landing 100 meters away. WiFi worked without issue and pool/spa looked very enticing although we didn't have time to take a dip.
Only two negatives were that the cabbies seemed unsure of where the hotel was located - one driver actually asked us to find another driver - and we could hear noises from other rooms (TV, walking around etc).
Would definitely recommend for those looking for good value option away from the strip.
We chose this hotel as our last night of a Western road trip before an early flight the next day. Hotel was very clean and seemed updated. They allow pets, but you would never know it. Room was comfortable, but the control to allow the fan to stay on constantly wasn't working properly so there was some awareness of distant airplane noise. Also, the walls were thin enough to hear someone coughing next door and people talking loudly in hall. If I had stayed another night, I would have needed a noise machine or the AC running to mask the noise. It was a nice place overall. We returned our rental car early and it was a quick drive to the rental center. Very convenient location.
My wife and I stayed at the La Quinta Inn & Suites, Las Vegas Airport South on three occasions in April/May 2013. The hotel front desk staff (and the other hotel staff we met) were absolutely charming - they could not have been more helpful. The rooms we were allocated were spotless and extremely quiet. This hotel is far removed from the excesses of Las Vegas Bouvelard ("The Strip") with its mammoth hotels/casinos and the accompanying crowds. It was, in fact, a haven of peace. Furthermore, although the hotel is quite close to the boundary of Las Vegas Airport and a major runway, it was surprisingly quiet - we never heard any aircraft noise. The only thing we would change is the breakfast. Although it was perfectly adequate (and very well presented), a little more variety of food (such as some English muffins to toast) would have been welcome as would some real butter. But, overall, we were delighted that we stayed in the hotel and - if we ever return to Las Vegas - we would, without any hesitation, stay at this hotel again.
Rooms new breakfast were great. Quiet location and easy with the dog and get away in the morning. Planned to take a cab to strip for dinner and show. They said to call down at 4:45 for a 5:00pm pick up. Cab didn't arrive until 5:30 so dinner plans had to be (unsatisfactorily) reworked. We would recommend allowing extra time if this is your plan.
This couldn't have been a better choice for us. It was VERY QUIET; staff was cheerful and ready to help - not a grouch in the bunch! They provided shuttle service to different locations not just the airport. We will stay there again when we have an early morning flight, no need to battle the traffic on the strip or expressway because of the location. Thanks to all the staff!
