Obviously a failed motel bought out and remodelled. Did not have the "La Quinta" feel or services.
Room was more "Motel 6" and breakfast was crammed into a corner of the lobby. I didn't realize how many L Q options I had until writing this review. I'll check closer next time!
I do not take the "poor" rating lightly that I rated for this hotel. We stayed in August 2014 and we received a king bed, standard room on the third floor (#305). Cons: the arm chair in the room had several stains and the springs in the chair were broken, the two stairwells had the smoke detectors removed and smelled of heavy cigarette smoke, the wood door was squeaky, small TV, not sure if the smoke detector was working in the room, stain on carpet, wooden bathroom door was pretty banged up, the key card didn't work half of the times we tried to use it and we were locked out of the building at one point. Not so negative: A/C worked well, bedding was clean, room smelled fine, bathroom and shower appeared clean, staff was kind, the complimentary breakfast options were decent, visited the indoor pool and hot tub and it was kinda strange but not horrible. We forgot to print something we needed and we used the business center that had a working computer with internet connection and printer to print what we needed which was helpful. The room had a mini-fridge and microwave, desk, desk chair, and was a decent size. That said it was very out dated and well used.
On the feeder of I-10. We brought our dog and was enough space to walk her while we were there.
We had a decent night sleep, but this hotel needs some major updating. We have stayed at several La Quinta brand hotels and I don't think we will be returning to this one.
No internet, the note on the front appears to be months old, stating internet will be unavailable until next week. I booked the King suite, it is a bigger room but not a suite. The sofa bed was not ready and no bedding available in the room. We were changed to a double bed room while the bed was clean the room had an bad odor. I am still waiting to be credited for the down grade from the King suite to the double bed room, a little more than a week and counting. Recommendation, do not stay at this La Quinta.
No internet for months yet they still advertise that they do have it. Place is not clean woke up with terrible allergies to something in my room and that has never happened before. Very loud because of proximity to interstate. This is not a La Quinta, it is a La Stinka!!
I stayed at this hotel on business. I chose the location because it was close to the business that I would be visiting for the next day and a half. What a disappointment! The toilet was extremely difficult to flush - thought I was going to break my thumb trying to flush. The sink faucet handle was so close to the faucet that it was difficult to get a hand under to turn the water on, then it was difficult to lift. The bathroom sink wasn't in the bathroom - it was in the hallway next to the door to the room; I'd prefer a sink in the bathroom. One light above the sink was burnt out. I asked for a king sized bed and got two doubles; no big deal. There were lights next to the beds; only one had a bulb, and it was burnt out. The chairs were stained. The room had a fridge and microwave, but the fridge was broken. And, as mentioned in other reviews (that I failed to read before booking the hotel), there was no internet access. On a business trip internet access for my laptop was pretty important. I was disappointed to find out it wasn't working after I got there (when their web site stated they had free internet).
The continental breakfast was nothing to brag about - toast, bagels, muffins, pastries, waffles, cold boiled eggs, coffee, juice. I guess if you're not a big breakfast person the breakfast was great. I, on the other hand, am a breakfast person and was not that impressed.
On a good note, the staff was very pleasant to work with. The shower was warm, the beds made nicely, clean linens. But if I ever need to travel to San Antonio again I will be looking for a different hotel. I would rate this hotel in the Motel category.
