"Wonderful Experience"

The hotel was wonderful. The pool and hot tub was great especially after a long day sightseeing in NYC. Jermaine the desk clerk was fantastic, great personality, very helpful also smiled. Some advice do not get a room near the pool... You can hear the people in the pool area. Otherwise I will stay at La Quinta when I come to visit NYC.

The staff was wonderful. The room was responsibly priced. I preferred a smoking room to my amazement it did not smell like a smoking room or floor. I travel with cleaning supplies however I did not find the need to use them. I have stayed at some of the best hotels in Atlantic City and had to use my supplies.

"Awful, awful, awful"

Put in room in back of hotel and halls REEKED of cigarette smoke even though we were in a non-smoking room. Drapes were stained, 3 light bulbs burned out, bathtub chipped ...Both room card keys stopped working..had to rekey late in the evening--long walk to front desk. Breakfast room was dirty--tables not cleaned. The whole hotel was looking decidedly ratty--needs a complete overhaul--new rugs, drapes, new bathroom fixtures. Maybe they should just demolish the building. It did NOT look like this when we stayed there a few years ago.

"this place is terrible"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

I had a group of 44 students on a field trip. We stayed 3 nights. Trouble started the first night and it wasn't with the students...it was with the plumbing at the hotel. One room called the front desk at 11:30 that their toilet wasn't flushing, they were told to use the bathroom in the hotel lobby since the maintenance guy doesn't start until 9AM. I asked to have them switched to another room and they told me that they were all booked up. The next night we get called that another room's toilet was exploding. I kid you not the toilet was shooting water up about 2-3 feet (not just water). The front desk sent the security guard up with some towels to dry up the floor and to put down on the carpet that got soaked...needless to say the smell wasn't very pleasant. They also couldn't change rooms until the next day because there wasn't any other rooms available. Most sinks filled half way while brushing teeth, some bathtubs filled ankle deep by the time you finished your shower and almost all the toilets made some noises that woke you up in the middle of the night. My toiled made some noise that sounded like a jack-hammer for about 8-10 minutes 4-5 times a night. Very loud. STOP! If you read their add or listen to their phone message, they advertise "newly renovated rooms". We stayed at the same place last year and the only renovations that were done was cosmetic. They painted the walls, changed the bed coverings and added a lamp in the corner. They need to revamp their entire plumbing system and get the rooms looking a little more modern. We had a boy in a wheel-chair who was told to use the lobby bathroom because his handicapped bathroom toilet wouldn't flush and the poor kid fell out of his wheel chair and injured himself and had to crawl out of the bathroom to try to get help. When I told the front desk they gave me attitude about it. This place is stuck in the 80's in terms of plumbing. The hallways are a total cluster-bleep. Several hallways are dead-ends that can only be reached by a certain stairs and elevators only service certain areas. Very weird. Finally, every room smelled of cigarette smoke.
