The La Quinta in Clovis NM is always an excellent place to stay. The entire staff is friendly, courteous and professional, it is very obvious the management team has worked hard to hand pick and train them in stellar hospitality. The beds are comfy, the pillows are just right and the rooms are sized so you do not feel squashed. When I am traveling through Clovis I always stay at La Quinta.
We were coming to Clovis for a marriage intensive seminar at a local church. Our church had reserved a special rate for us with La Quinta ahead of time. Not sure what the normal rate was but we were given a rate of $89 for the room. WOW! This was a great rate, especially for what we found inside. We arrived, checked in with no problems and were given a room on the 3rd floor. It was a very spacious room. It was a king size bed with a sitting area separated from the room by a neat archway. The sitting are had a love seat, a coffee table, an end table and a single chair in the corner as well. It was equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave and a coffee maker.
The size of the room for the money was a surprise that we could not describe other than "impressive". It was clean and very spacious. There was a flat screen tv with HBO and the bed was fantastic. It had great pillows and was very comfortable. Very nice mattress and very comfortable.
The setup up of the room was very nice as well. The sink and mirror was just inside the room door and there was a little closet. The sink being separate from the bathroom was nice for us. The separate bathroom had only the commode and the shower. The water pressure was great in comparison to lots of hotels and the shower head was great and there was plenty of hot water.
We were able to take advantage of the free breakfast and it was worth it. Some hotels do just toast and pastries and such. This breakfast consisted of pastries, bagels and cereals. They also provided a waffle maker to make waffles. The also provided biscuits, sausage gravy, eggs and sausage links. For those expecting some 5 star breakfast to order, it is not. But, if you are looking for a very clean, spacious hotel that includes breakfast, this is the place to go. If we are ever back in Clovis and need to stay overnight, this is a no brainer.
We were at this hotel for 2 weeks and then some while we were house hunting. We are military recently relocated to the area. The room they gave us was very spacious, we had 2 pets so that was a huge plus to have a little extra room. The room was clean when we checked in and smelled nice. Housekeeping worked with us to accommodate us being able to remove our pets from the room for them to clean. The front desk staff was very friendly and made every effort they could to resolve any issues we had. A team of teenagers stayed for a weekend while we were there and were VERY noisy and obnoxious, and when we reported some of them yelling out the windows to other guests entering and exiting the building and loud thumps coming from the floor above us the front desk took care of it immediately.
The cons are that there are only one washer and dryer that I saw for the entire building which obviously causes a problem when there are many guests. Also the internet does have it's issues, having to sign in every time when you leave and come back is annoying and I was unable to work due to no hardwired connections working in the room that I needed for my VOIP phone.
We stayed here for a weekend meeting and found the hotel very nice. We have stayed here before and have never been disappointed. Depending on what rooms you rent they can be very large and open. Our only complaint is that we reserved adjoining rooms the day before but when we arrived they said they did not have any. When we called in they said they reserved us adjoining rooms. I think someone either rented our room accidentally or somewhere the staff made a mistake. This was a little bit of a problem because we were keeping our kids in the room and had to go down to the hall to supervise them. If we had it to do over again we probably would just have rented the larger room and put them in with us. All in all this was a great place to stay. I think the price to stay the night is not great but was average.
My husband and I stayed at this La Quinta twice for one night each time about 10 days apart. The rooms were huge with two queen beds, microwave, refrigerator, large seating area with a sofabed, chair and coffee table.
The best part of the stay was the staff. The manager, Richard, was so accommodating and very pleasant. On our first night's stay, the air conditioning quit in the middle of the night. When I mentioned it to Richard, he upgraded our room for the next stay, about ten days later and he gave a small credit to my credit card. I was surprised as most hotels don't really seem too concerned about whether you slept well.
The other staff member who was so helpful was Rosalinda. Because of the US government's lack of budget planning, our plans had to change several times and Rosalinda was very nice about making the changes. She was also helpful with restaurant recommendations.
Both Richard and Rosalinda would be employees I would like to hire.
The property, including the rooms, was very clean and recently remodeled. We would definitely stay there again.
