The good stuff. A happy place for our kitty who can stay no problem at all!! Good breakfast for my husband and teenage kids Big spacious rooms Comfortable beds Gym Staff very friendly! Far away from the train tracks. Close to everything. The good/bad stuff Laundry room a $1.00 to wash $1.00 to dry okay...but it is broken. HOWEVER the staff washed it in their machine. The breakfast was not all laid out on the second day...but once I mentioned this to the Asst.Manager Richard who was working at the desk...problem corrected. Everything was refilled! The bad stuff. The indoor pool too cool The indoor hot tub a boiling pot!!! A girl went to complain and was told there was no one there to change the temperature. The other stuff I am vegan...not a lot of choices for food for me on the breakfast bar. I can't really fault them about this...just a heads up for those traveling Free Snacks for afternoon. Chips and salsa which even vegans can eat (yay) and cookies for the people...dog biscuits for the canines and kibbles for the felines. All in all good place for me and mine! Math to ponder: 5 people all over the age of 15 and 1 bathroom = what? Answer: lots of waiting for your turn.

The staff was very polite and pleasant. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a change of plans in our trip and needed to stay an extra night and they were great with arranging for us to have a King size room instead of the room we were in. They even offered to move our luggage to the new room if we were not able to be at the hotel at the time the new room was ready. Our entire stay was great, if we are ever back in Clovis, N.M we will be staying here!

Not only is this a high quality hotel that offers clean spacious rooms and friendly service at a very affordable rate, but it seemed to be the nicest place in Clovis/Portales, not nicest hotel, nicest place in general. We only stayed for one night but the staff was very friendly and helpful, not only to us but they were observed taking their time to assist other guests as well. The overall appearance of the hotel was great, the rooms and halls were clean and our King Suite was spacious and bright. The bed was good for a hotel bed but I have slept on better. The breakfast was good, especially considering it was a free hotel breakfast; they offered a variety of hot and cold foods and beverages. The biggest complaint I had was the slow elevator, most of the time it was much faster to take the stairs, and I mean half the time, compared to taking the elevator to our third floor room, even when it didn't have to make stops in between.

We have stayed at the La Quinta in Clovis many times. The rooms are HUGE, the staff is friendly, and you are far north of the train tracks, the breakfast is pretty good for a hotel breakfast. The last time we went, however, we had a different experience. We were there for our son's college graduation. We left at 7:00 that morning, when we returned our room had not been made up. We ignored it deciding to nap instead. We put out the do not disturb sign. Fifteen minutes later a hotel employee knocked on the door . She ignored the sign and didn't offer to make up the room. When we complained the next day. The desk clerk was apologetic until he saw we booked through an internet site.

Will never stay with another hotel chain again! La Quinta has the most bang for your buck - and then some! Staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is good, warm and a nice variety. Rooms are clean (and believe me, I'm picky). Can't wait to stay at another La Quinta soon.
