"great location"

I stay at this hotel every year for a long weekend when I want to spend days in Manhattan seeing the theater shows, the arts and shopping. It is centrally located near transportation, shops, landmarks and (if you are mobile) walking distance to Broadway plays/Times Square. It is a boutique hotel, not fancy but most quests are internationally based. The rooms are nicely updated, rates are reasonable with discounts when available, hotel is kept clean, the free breakfast is a good variety which you help yourself but it does get busy, rooftop bar which is also busy, daily newspaper during the week and the lobby is a good size to sit and relax. They have a fitness & 24-hour business centers. Free wireless & local calls. The elevators get very busy during morning hours - breakfast and checkout, so if you are in a hurry ask for a lower floor. Also, if you want to sleep undisturbed, call the front desk when you make your reservation for a quiet room. There is a discount parking garage but it is across the street, not next to the hotel & not owned by the hotel. It is in the Korean area in Manhattan - great restaurants, even a reasonable mini supermarket for food. A block or so away are all fast food restaurants, pharmacies, Starbucks, buses, trains, Macy's, Empire State Building, tourist center...

Went to NYC after niece's wedding in MD back in 2012. First trip to the city for wife and daughter. Hotel room was roomy but smelled like paint as rooms were being renovated. View was drab. If you leaned into the window and looked up, you could see the ESB. Evidently there is a office in the adjacent building because we saw the same fellow at his desk every day. Rooftop bar was outstanding and the breakfast was ok. But why, oh why, are hotel elevators so sloooow?

Just returnede we want to acknowledge La Quinta. The best location in town - right next to The Empire State Building, with rooftop bar just below. Fantastic. Space rooms, bed etc. Great service and very good breakfast.

in the middle of little Korea around the corner from the Empire State Building and Madison Square Garden. Very clean and spacious considering it is NY. Very quiet even though we were on the street. Breakfast was crowded with tourists and a lot of variety of food. I believe we were the only Americans staying there at the time. A lot of Europeans which made it very interesting for people watching and conversation. It really does not matter where you stay in NY with the transportation they have. I would definitely go back here.

Just came back from a 5 day trip to NYC. I reserved this hotel for a group of 19 adults and 4 children. From the start, it was a great experience. We arrived very late evening/early morning (1 am) and the staff had our rooms ready. Breakfast? OK. Simple, continental. Location? The hotel is right around the corner from the Empire State building and at walking distance from Times Square, NY Public Library, Grand Central and Rockefeller Center. And it has a subway stop with lots of subway lines. Very, very convenient. WiFi? Free! Negatives? Only the huge, smelly trash can right at the front door of the hotel. Overall, I would come back, and recommend it.
