We keep coming back! The ocean view rooms are spectacular and the front desk always does their best to honor requests and get you into a room you are comfortable with (we usually take our vacation directly before memorial day - so this may get more difficult as the summer goes on) - but I assure you they will do everything they can. Staff has always been friendly and smiling. On this stay - I ran into a minor work emergency where I needed a form scanned and the business center lacks a scanner. The GM himself took the paper I needed and found a way to get it to my e-mail. He did this with a smile. I know he must have had about a billion things going on in a hotel this size on a Friday - but he took my issue seriously and helped me with pleasure. Didn't even seem to stress him out (and I know he has a big job). The views are outstanding. In the last couple years, they put a HUGE outdoor bar next door. I thought it would be a hindrance - but it is kinda cool. Music during the week is light enough unless you open the balcony door and take in some music. Weekends... well, it is South Padre - so just go with it! CLEAN beaches. You can rent umbrellas on the beach for very little money (I think we paid $25 in the off season for the entire day). If you don't like sand - the extensive patio overlooks the ocean. Perfect place to read. Enjoy your stay! Housekeeping was awesome!

This hotel does not live up to the pictures. It is not newly remodeled. It was old and very smelly. Lots of partying and drug use going on. We took our little children and had a bad time. The whole place was dirty and everything was over used and broken. Our room stunk like mildew and throw-up. Had to throw away our luggage when we returned home because it smelled so bad. I've never had such a bad experience. We didn't want to bring our children to a spring break experience. The staff seemed oblivious to all the craziness and the mess. We had to have our toilet fixed twice during our 2 day stay, once in the first 10 minutes that we arrived. The beach outside the hotel was covered in trash. We should have stayed next door at the Hilton, so much cleaner.

The La Quinta Inn at South Padre was clean and convenient to the major attractions for our visit. The staff was very friendly and they had a great free breakfast spread for our morning wake up time at the hotel.

My stay was for 3 days but It was great. The service, guidance and staff was very curtious and respectful. My main concern was to get something comfortable because we were 4 persons, 3 seniors and I am on cane use, but everything was great and also it was right on the beach. The pool was great. Hopefully I'll be back soon.

La Quinta is located directly on the beach. Room was clean and large, beds/matrasse were okay. Breakfast is included. We got the room for 90$ per night (booking.com) and it was every dollar worth. La Quinta has only a small pool area and not a lot of shadowed table seats but with the beach and Clayton Bar (live music on weekends) next door not really an issue. But if you need a quite stay, book another hotel because the music from the Clayton Bar is rather loud from mid-day until 10 p.m.
