We stayed here in June 2013 for one night each on both ends of a park/sleep/fly. The good: - Price - Relatively easy to get to - Airport shuttle worked well for us - Sheets were clean The not-so-good: - Mattresses were terrible... worn out, sagged, and no back support - Bathrooms were dirty; drain plug was missing out of the sink, and the plumbing fixtures showed corrosion - Paint peeling off the ceiling - Pet smell in both rooms we had - Strong smell of pet urine near ice machine - Dog food spilled all over floor at rear entrance - Carpets were worn - Frequent fire truck sirens the first night we were there - Heater/AC unit can not be set for the fan to be always ON (I like that for some noise to mask all the other unfamiliar sounds). It cycled on and off all night. - Poor breakfast; breakfast area was dirty; breakfast ended on the weekend at 9am (10am most places we usually stay). - No nearby restaurant choices other than the attached Denny's - Wi-Fi did not work - we were told to call an 800 number to get it fixed. - We were called in our room at 6am and told we were late for our airport shuttle and that we were "very inconsiderate, they have a schedule to keep". We clearly were in the hotel log for the 6:30am shuttle. No apology. - Desk staff was generally inconsiderate and indifferent. - Clientele made us feel uncomfortable I absolutely cannot believe the #1 Tripadvisor rating for this hotel. I've stayed at several of the other Hazelwood ones rated lower, and there is no comparison. We won't return, and would never recommend this hotel to others.

I recently stayed at the La Quinta Inn in Hazelwood, MO. It was an airport hotel so I did expect to hear the constant sounds of planes flying over, so I will not comment any more on that. When I first entered the hotel, the smell of smoke hit me like a wave. As we entered our room, the smell of a high use of air freshener was overwhelming. The carpet was filthy, the pool was cloudy, and the bathroom was extremely small. It worked for one night, but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone else.

If you need a place to stay near the airport but in a better area than right at the airport this is the best! Hotel was modern clean and secure and the price was excellent. Rooms were nice sized with an actual closet to hang clothing in, bathrooms were spotless and in great shape. Beds were extremely clean and even though the mattress was a little more firm than I like it was a very comfortable QUIET nights sleep. Continental breakfast was as expected but plentiful and well presented. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful and we did not want for anything or have any problems at all. We did the sleep park and fly deal and the shuttle was very prompt, parking lot was well lit and we did not worry about our vehicle while gone. This is not the most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed at but for the price it can't be beat. If you want clean, quiet, comfortable and friendly this is the place to stay!!

Bed and linens were very nice, clean and spacious! Staff was pleasant and breakfast was more then expected! Shuttle to airport was timely and driver was friendly. I need 200 characters and have tan out of things to say so enjoy ur stay!

Stayed for 5 days last week. Great location. This is an older LQ that really needs updating. I stayed at an LQ in Memphis, and one in Mobile earlier in the week and they were hands above this location. However, after looking at the other two locations in St. Louis, I can't say that they are any better, and this is the cheapest. The hallway carpets are dingy and the elevator smelled like pickles. WiFi doesn't really work well. Noisy on first floor. Linens were clean and staff was nice. Room was clean, but needed updating. Nice fridge and older microwave. ADA room has wide door, big bathroom, grab bars and handwand in tub, but tub is very high to step into-I had a hard time because the tub is higher than the floor. Would prefer a roll in shower for a true ADA experience. Parking was tough because they allow free parking for travelers-some people leave cars all week while gone and steal the good spots. Not enough handicap spots, especially near the entrance-none at all! All in all a very inexpensive hotel, but don't expect to live up to more recent LQ quality. Would not stay again, but it wasn't the worst place I've ever been.
