"A total dump!"

I stay at LQs almost exclusively. I appreciate the quality, the amenities, and the breakfast. I got to this place at 8pm two nights ago and the room I had was terrible. It had a smell to it, didn't look clean, the counters were all beat up and the mirror was peeling. There was not soap in the bathroom. The breakfast the next morning was waffles, cereal, milk, prewrapped muffins and OJ. That was it! The motel (that is what it is) is old and needs to be updated or put out of its misery. I cancelled my second night and spent $8 more to stay at LQ airport which is 5 minutes away and 1000% better! Avoid this one at all cost!

"This is not the La Quinta you're looking for"

The Other Jim H | Oakland, California
We visited Corpus for a family wedding and were told that everyone was staying at the La Quinta. It turned out we were at the wrong La Quinta. Most of the party stayed at the Northwest inn. We were sorry to learn that not all La Quintas are the same. The other one was much nicer than ours, which has a lot of deferred maintenance. When we arrived, we were sent to a room that was already occupied. After we got that straightened out, we had a room that was OK, but had some problems. The worst was the faucet in the shower/tub, which dripped continuously. This in the middle of a severe drought! We reported the problem, as well as the fact that the room phone didn't work and the lining in the tub was peeling off. Nothing was fixed while we were there, but they did give us a discount on the room. To be honest, we have stayed in worse spots, but we expected better. Given the number of motels in Corpus, including several within a block of this one, I suggest you stay somewhere else until the place gets a makeover.

"Do not stay here - Or you will feel like you got ripped off"

Disappointed G | Bryan, Texas
Our stay was horrible. We had to move to 3 different rooms. 3rd Floor 1st room's carpet was wet from the day prior to shampooing, due to dog hair. 3rd Floor 2nd room's A/C was not working properly. Maintenance came in to unstick the censor which controls the unit from going on and off. This did not fix the problem, we slept in a hot room, which we had to take baths to maintain cool. 3rd room was on the 2nd floor, which the a/c worked great, however we weren't able to sleep due to the noise of the 3rd floor room above us. My family would have checked out sooner, however there were no other hotels within a 50 mile radius that had available rooms. I am very disappointed and I hope that this particular hotel raises their standards and ensures their customers do not have to feel the way we did. I failed to mention the inability to enjoy the breakfast. The care taker was not able to keep up with supply and demand. There was no eggs, breads, gravy, no milk for cereal for my kids, etc......the breakfast area was out of everything, everytime we attempted to eat the breakfast, there was nothing available. I had to take my family out to eat for breakfast. Also the signage of the shower needs to be corrected, the hot water is in fact towards the blue, which commonly is cold water. I truly hope that another family does not have to experience what we did at this La Quinta. We paid for two nights on 8/8 & 8/9, for the worst rooms, and services.

"Overnight stay in Corpus"

Altough the hotel is not located in a good part of town it was not a bad experience overall. There wasn't much around there and the Denny's next door was not the best. The drive to the beach was about 45 min so next time we'll stay closer. We stayed in the Executive Double and there was plenty of room for our family.

"Not a place to stay for women and children"

We were booked into this motel when the hotel we were booked into lost it's water. I was told by whoever I was talking to (I had booked thru Hotels.com) that it was in the same area of Corpus and had the same perks as the hotel we were booked into. She also said that they were going to upgrade us too a better hotel. Well, I hate to see a downgrade!!! When I checked into La Quinta, it was at 7:30 at night and the room wasn't even cleaned yet, it was no where near where the original hotel was but on the other side of the city. This is a very old motel and looked it. The neighborhood wasn't the best and the cliental wasn't that good either. There was a smell to the room and it looked a bit better after it was cleaned (but not much). I didn't feel comfortable staying there with the 2 grandchildren we had with us. Granted I had a very large man with me but he wasn't comfortable staying there either. So we canceled the room and went and got a room at a 100% better hotel.
