"Clean, quiet, comfortable"

This was my first stay at this motel. I enjoyed it and will be back. Front desk was courteous. Nice breakfast. The room was quiet and bed was comfortable. Although I didn't use the outdoor pool, it seemed like the others in there were enjoying it.

"The beds are hard as rocks"
2 of 5 stars Reviewed Apr 12, 2014

If you want to have a bad night's sleep, go to the East LaQuinta in Tucson, AZ. The beds are new and hard as rocks. It was iImpossible to sleep. When I reported this to the front desk, I was given a different room but only after I asked for one. I did not receive an apology for the inconvenience or the fact that I got no sleep the night before. My ribs hurt so bad that night that I couldn't even breathe. The next day every bone in my body ached. I feel that I should have been offered an extra nights stay in the room with the softer bed and an apology not just a different room AFTER I asked for one. It should have been offered automatically with an apology not just an excuse that it was a new bed. The front desk personnel should also have called the manager up and advised them of the problem. I've had problems with this place before and have reported them with no resolve. For instance, one of the last times I stayed there, I had a phone call from the front at midnight. They then hung up and then called back and said oh, I didn't know there was anybody in this room. No apology for waking up up, no nothing. Very disappointed. I don't think I'll be back again. This was the last straw.

"Not my favorite La Quinta and we stay at a lot of them!"

Had a good first impression walking into the lobby?except for the "under construction" signs. Then, when we went to the room, disappointed because it was right by the stairs. Then, upon entry, found the nice beds and updated room?nice vanity area?then the bathroom. Really? New tub enclosure, but tiles missing from the floor, old looking toilet and old shower head. Looked like the contractors forgot to finish?and did a poor job on the floor. Smoking and loud people outside by the stairs a good part of the night?our dog growled most of the night because of all the commotion.

"No terrible but below average grounds"
2 of 5 stars Reviewed Apr 10, 2014

I don't expect much from a 2-2.5 star hotel and I am very easy to please. With that said I just felt I was charged way more then this location is worth in it's current condition. It felt old and run down. I had an executive King room because it was one of the better rates available at the time I made the reservation. It was nice floor space but that's all it was. The bed was fine but everything else felt run down. The toilet had a big rust stain in the bowl. It functioned but the visual appeal was poor. It's not hard to replace a toilet. One light fixture was hanging off the lamp and the carpet has seen it's day. It wasn't terrible and for a better price I would have been satisfied. After my stay at this location I moved to the newer location near Reid park (almost same area) and actually paid a few $$ less each night for a brand new renovated hotel. Much better. The current location I am reviewing however should be offered at a lower rate until the building is renovated. Maybe there are renovated rooms there? I dunno. All I know is I got a room from the 90's.
