Room was clean, staff was friendly. There was some type of sewage problem on the day of our checkout and the smell outside our room was unbearable so we checked out early instead of taking a swim before we left. Other than that one problem the hotel was nice.

Stayed there for 4 nights while visiting st pete. The room was avg. the staff doid their best the front desk was helpful. The grounds seemed to be in the middle of a drug area, shady people and yelling at night. On our check out morning I left the hatch back open while loading the car and while back in the room my attache bag was stolen. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

Not a five star hotel, but for the money a very good one to sleep at. No complaints. Got up in the morning, had coffee and lite free breakfast, went to business meetings all day, came back at night to sleep, did it again for 4 days. Third year in a row I did this at this hotel. Would do it again next year.

I've stayed here several times a year for the past 4 years and although I can see how some of the more negative reviews could be possible, I personally haven't had anything but a seemless positive experience at this La Quinta. True, it is not in the best area of town, but I've never seen the drug or prostitute activities that others have mentioned going on. My room has always been clean and appeared refurbished... The only thing that could use some tuning up is the rate schedule...La Quinta HQ sometimes gives a better rate than the hotel, and sometimes it's the other way around...Don't accept the first rate given...

Me and my family were in St Pete to visit grandparents, so they arranged our stay at this La Quinta. I travel for a living, averaging 100 + nights in hotels each year, in the US and international. I will start with what was wrong and finish with the good. The first room we went in to was so disgusting we asked to change rooms...by comparison the second room was better, it was late and we were tired and traveling with two kids. My wife had to ask three times to have the bathroom cleaned, the carpets were disgusting, the sheets, while clean (we think) were old and needed to be replaced. Breakfast area was so dirty and disorganized we eat next door even tho it was included in the stay. Good points - staff was friendly and outside of the place looked nice, pool area was very nice. Overall opinion, this place needs a new management team. I would never advise my family or friends to stay here until major changes have been made.
