"Will never stay here again"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Jul 13, 2014

Had a family reunion here in July 2014. We rented 5 rooms over a 4-day period. Not trying to run anyone down, but these are the factual things we experienced. The comments about the management or any solutions to problems I offer are just my opinion. There we so many issues encountered, we as a group started to keep a list so we could remember them all. The bed head board in one room had two 3 inch holes/tears in the covering, looked trashed out. Several of the rooms had fabric covering on the furniture that was stained and nasty looking. In two of the rooms the refrigerator froze the contents instead of just keeping it cold. The shower curtain in one room had mildew on it. When asked to replace it on the first day another dirty shower curtain was provided and no further maid room service for that room was provided. One room had a "closet" supposedly for you to put your suitcase and hanging clothes in. When you opened the "closet" door there was only room for the ironing board and iron (we took a picture of this oddity). One room had a strong smell of mildew when you opened the door. The two room suite had botched paint job on the ceiling and the walls were marked up and dirty. We had one guest that tried to sleep on the sleeper sofa. The mattress was so bad that they just folded it up, put the sofa cushions back in and slept on the sofa. The door badge reader on the west hotel entry door stopped working. Hotel management said they could not fix it. Hotel residents placed a rock in the door jam to keep it open. The breakfast area was constantly running out of food. Extremely long lines because everyone was backed up waiting on the one waffle maker (with a defective timer) that was placed in the middle of the breakfast line. Dirty tables (never saw anyone come out to clean them while we were there). Nasty under cooked sausage patties. The orange juice from the juice machine tasted awful. Eventually they brought out a pitcher of juice that was okay. (I could go on and on about this "hotel amenity".) It looked like no one was in charge and no one cared about the quality of service.) The pool had a very strong chlorine smell. No towels were available. The only way to get a towel for the pool was to try and catch one of the room service staff in the hall. Again, no one seemed to be in charge and no one cared. Let's move on to the free "high speed" wireless internet service the hotel advertises. When we arrived on the first day none of our Windows, Apple, or other WiFi enabled devices could get an internet connection. All devices could connect to their unsecured public hotel wireless router but could get no internet connection. We were relying on having an internet connection so we could Skype video chat with members of the family that were not able to attend. This was very important to the success of the reunion. The front desk person had no information and would only say sorry for the inconvenience with no offer to investigate or attempt to resolve the problem. There was nothing that could be done. We finally asked the front desk person for the hotel owner's phone number so we could call them and ask to have them call the internet service provider to report / fix the problem. At that point the front desk person said they would call the owner. We thought things would be resolved. No. The internet outage continued for the entire stay although at times some of our wireless devices could randomly connect to the internet. Over the four days we got various excuses as to why the internet service did not work like the internet service provider is "working on the lines" etc.. I personally believe that this LaQuinta was experiencing DCHP server pool exhaustion resulting from a poorly set-up wireless router configuration that the hotel owner should be able to get fixed. Don't know but this may explain why some wireless devices (depending on when they tried to connect) would either be successful or not in achieving an internet connection. In my opinion, they need to either decrease the server address lease period or have the internet service provider add more server addresses. In addition, the business center computers and printers were not functional so you could not perform a check-in for your return flight, print a boarding pass or even google map an address. The excuse the front desk gave for this problem was the "someone" bypassed the security on their system and installed a virus. (I found it curious that their internet connection, computers, printers, and web site to book rooms and charge your credit card were working fine.) In short, don't expect to have any personal internet connectivity at this hotel. (If you want to connect to the internet make sure you have a device that can do so through one of the cell phone networks. If you call them to ask, you may be told that "everything is working fine.") On check-out we were only asked to verify the bill was correct. We were not asked to comment on the quality of the stay and were not offered any compensation due to all of these issues we made them aware of. I wonder if the management / owners of this LaQuinta hotel have a clue as to what is going on in their hotel or simply don't care.

"Don't even think about it"

For a new hotel it's already pretty beaten up. Bad skunk smell outside my room, didn't clean bathroom during my stay, hair on the bed that wasn't mine, loud people in hallway til 1 am, people sitting outside on the benches at the door sewing until after 11 pm, terribly sketchy neighborhood with an abandoned mall next door. Never again

"Great stay"

Hotel was nice, clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I rated a 4 for service because the wait for breakfast was horrendous. There was only 1 waffle maker, about 8 sausages and a big pan of eggs every morning. Just imagine 10 to 15 ppl waiting in line to make a waffle. That was the only complaint I had. If they add more counter space for another waffle maker and other breakfast items, this would be an excellent stay. :)

"Not the best..."

Overall appearance was good. Lobby was nice. We booked a two room suite and had two children with us. Ok cool. Well, we start taking off the cushions to the sleeper sofa only to find a pair of dirty panties!! Gross! Upon folding out the bed we notice the bed was still holding the previous stays bed linens. The main room was not bad. A few hairs on bed but that's manageable. We call front desk about the panties and are moved to another two room suite. So that was great. No complaints with new room. However whoever cleaned that floor, clearly didn't do their job correctly. Elevator was SLOW! And the chlorine from the pool was kinda strong. But we only had to smell it while downstairs. Check in clerk was nice and prompt. Just can't get over used panties tho!!
