"Convenient location, busy hotel"
3 of 5 stars Reviewed Apr 15, 2014

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a full week following a sudden death in the family. We really just needed a convenient, clean, safe place to stay, and the La Quinta met our needs. I did really appreciate the small refrigerator and microwave in the room. I couldn't bear to eat fast food every meal for a whole week, so I got a few groceries at the Walmart down the street and could at least fix some things at the hotel. The service at the hotel is just ok. One day the cleaning staff didn't leave us any towels - an easy fix, since they were still working down the hall from us. We were surprised that the hotel does not offer cots/roll-away beds. We had an extra family member with us one night, and when I asked for a cot, the person at the front desk looked at me like I had two heads. I didn't realize it was an "unusual" request, but she told me "we don't have that." The hotel backs up to the interstate, and there are several other hotels next door and across the street ... this meant that the parking area behind the hotel seemed a little sketchy. Women traveling alone should probably try to park in front where there is better lighting. Overall, our stay was fine. If I needed to stay in Clarksville again, I'd consider the La Quinta. (Though my preference would be the Hilton Garden Inn, a couple of blocks away. I've stayed there, too, and found it to be a bit better.)

"Good hotel needs some work"

So I travel across country quite often and this place was a great stop the price was great for two nights.breakfast was good liked the variety.down falls first room I was given toilet didn't flush so the front desk was very quick to fix us another room then came the internet. I was never given any information on how it works.turn my Wi-Fi on my phone then it asks for user name and password which was not given to me then j had to reconnect the front desk to get help. I have stayed in a few laquinta's during my trip and it was easy to connect to.I am not a tech geek or anything just seemed like a lot of work to get Wi-Fi. Over all liked then m gym m and staff was polite and good location just didn't like those things I listed above.

"Great place!!"

The hotel was very clean, beds very comfy and breakfast was fantastic. Just be forewarned, plan ahead if traveling during spring break. Plan your stop and make a reservation. Hotel was booked but I did call ahead to make reservation as they are one of the few who take dogs. We will stay there again for sure.

"Friendly Staff (With the Exception of One)"
5 of 5 stars Reviewed Apr 9, 2014

Maureen was extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful. The front desk clerk who checked my business party was very unpleasant and argumentative. The cable tv service had been upgraded during our stay. Contractors were allowed to enter our rooms to add a cable box (5 HBO's!). This happened despite one of my traveling partners placing a "Do Not Disturb" sign on his door. None of us were notified the television service would be upgraded, therefore, my co-worker felt his privacy had been invaded. He understood needing to upgrade the tv service, but he would've taken measures to secure his more valuable items if a non-employee of the hotel were allowed to enter. The front desk clerk argued with my co-worker. Curiously, we did not see that clerk the remainder of our trip.

"Just a "few" little things!"

I wanted to give them 5 stars but the breakfast this morning was not up to the usual La Quinta standards-no person on breakfast duty-hot items were old and cold-poor waffle mix. I know it is a complimentary breakfast but.... On the positive-the gal that checked us in was pleasant and gave us a good recommendation for dinner (Cheddars), the room was clean, quiet, and comfortable with good places to plug in electronics. I would still recommend this hotel.
