I found this hotel at Booking.com at a really good price, so I decided my husband and I should try staying outside of Manhattan for our weekend getaway. It worked out great. Free parking at the hotel was nice, and we took NJ Transit right across the street from the hotel to get in and out of the city ($3.95 per trip). Not cheap, but for a hotel of this quality, we would have paid a lot more to be in NYC. Each trip took 15-20min, from the hotel to Port Authority.
Breakfast was decent and of good variety. Nothing I can complain about.
Location of the hotel is wonderful. There is Kohl's, Toys-r-us, Walmart, TJ Max, and several restaurants like Olive Garden and Bonefish Grill all within walking distance.
Hotel room was clean, the swimming pool was only okay but good enough to swim in.
For the price, this is a good place to stay. The 320 bus runs every 15 mins into the city thru the Lincoln tunnel. If you catch the train back, which you may want to do in the afternoon because the bus gets crowded on weekdays, all you need to do is call thr hotel from Secausus junction and they will come pick you up. The pool is not heated so it was too cold to use and the air conditioners are very noisy at night when they go on, but those were the only cons. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the comp breakfast is good. It's close enough to walk to a few good restaurants and shopping. I would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone who doesn't want to pay the ridiculous New York hotel rates. Very nice hotel.
Great value for price. Transportation to my right across street breakfast very good staff friendly and rofessional. Picked my wife and I up from Secacus train station on two occasions with courtesy van. Only complaints was noisy Ac unit. Would deginetly stay there again
Nice Hotel, we had a 6 person room, two small beds and a convertible bank/bed.
The beds a bit too small for 2 persons, (just ok)
Breadfast was ok, cereals, fruit and English (just wasting a lot of plastic).
The pool a bit cold(they heatened up), and the gym not fully operatinol but , personnel really nice, nice restaurants in the neighborhood, and 30 mins /bus (320) to Port Authoritty (Times Square).
It wasn't superb, but price quality was certainly high!
Found this hotel on Orbitz listings and it was a Gold plus find.The reception was wonderful and one of their hosts went out of his way to help us enjoy our three days in New York and to find our easiest way out to head North to Canada. The rooms were perfect,the breakfast was huge and good.Also if you would like to have a late supper the food was excellent and reasonable priced.The best part there is a bus stop right outside that takes you right downtown NY for $ 7.20 (seniors) rtn in about 20 minutes. Best keeped secret in listing NY hotels.
