"Ditto to OK Economical stay review"

Exterior not appealing, but lobby is nice and considerate staff offset initial reaction. Covered parking is limited and awkward. Additional parking is outside and out of site behind the building. Room was nice, but AC/heat was balky and inconsistent. Bathroom was a bit out-dated, but functional. 32" flat screen had good picture quality on limited stations. Breakfast provided a good choice, make your own waffles, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, coffee, juices, hard-boiled eggs and selection of bread and pastries. The elevator is slow and claustrophobic. All-in-all, for the lower rate we paid it was a good deal for the overnight room we needed. Downtown looked like a long walk.
The hotel seems a little dates from the outside, but the rooms are very nicely updated, Nice to have free parking so close to downtown. It is possible to walk downtown, but it feels a little disconnected with busy streets
I was able to get a good deal on Hotwire for approxmately half off the nightly rate, hence I will not be too critical of my review. Upon driving up to the property it looked somewhat unapealing, however, once I entered the lobby it had a decent remodeled decor. The staff was great and provided good service. I only rode the elevator once, it was very small and it felt like I was in a coffin or small closet. So the rest of my stay I took the stairs (not a huge deal I was on the 2nd floor) and the property only has 3 floors. Upon entering my room it had a slight muggy smell (which was apparent each time I entered, however, it did not last once you are in the room) The room was clean, had 2 double beds, a 32 in flat screen tv, a mini fridge and microwave, work desk and chair. The AC was tricky, due to the fact that it would be either too cold with the ac on or too warm if it was turned off. The free Wifi internet was nice (however, it worked sporadically). So if you need to use internet for business you might be frustrated. The room was clean and the bathroom was a decent size and the bathroom sink was located outside of the bathroom near the door. The hotel has free limited covered parking and also an overflow parking lot as well. I did not participate in the free breakfast that was offered so I cannot speak on that. All and all decent hotel it just looks a little rough on the outside but the inside has been upgraded. For the right price it's decent. I had a car so I drove but it is walking distance to major places downtown and @ $5 cab ride as well.
The La Quinta Inn located on the edge of downtown Indy is a great location to enjoy the downtown area without paying downtown prices. The hotel is minutes away from affordable downtown parking. The rooms are well kept with a friendly and helpful staff. Ample onsite parking is available. The complimentary breakfast is served at convenient times through the week and weekend. The elevator is a little tight and could be a problem for large families with a lot of luggage. Rooms have individual coffee cup makers, micro waves, refrigerators, and hair dryers. There is no swimming pool or restaurant.
Overall, the hotel is an excellent value given the downtown location.
I arrived very late to find out my reservation had been canceled (my fault, not theirs). Terrance went above and beyond to find me a room somewhere in town because La Quinta was full. Facility was clean and comfortable, like they all are! These guys are great!!
