I checked in late to the La Quinta Inn off of I-5 in Salem. The gentleman working at the the front desk was very friendly and check in was quick. The hotel seemed to have quite a few guests staying as the parking lot was nearly full. I stayed in a two double bed room that overlooked the creek area to the rear of the building. Room was comfortable, clean, and fairly quiet. I got up around 6:30 to eat the continental breakfast. There were an assortment of muffins, breads, danishes, fruit, cereal, milk, yogurt, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage links. At first, I was the only guest in the lounge area, but soon another guest arrived. I went back to the food counter to get some fruit when something cold poked me in the leg. I turned around to see two doberman pinchers and a black standard poodle. Apparently, there was some sort of K-9 show or something going on, as when I went to the parking lot there were many guests walking dogs outside. Usually, I am a little uneasy around large dogs, but the owners seemed to have them all in control, the dogs were not noisy, and the hotel did not smell of animals, so there were no complaints. Many good things: Quiet location. Walking distance to Cost-Co and Denny's. Quiet. Big mini fridge. Great shower head. Big and user friendly vanity sink, I want one for my house-the way it curves keeps water from splashing out and on you while your washing your face. Very friendly and happy staff (especially Rudy). not so good things: Small bathroom and very small closet, the kind you have to contort to open when the room door is open. The hotel seems newer, but the linens were very worn out, I think it's more of a housekeeping problem tho..as in laundry issues. Speaking of housekeeping, the shower curtain reeeeeked of mildew. Serious lack of electrical outlets in the room. The breakfast was very bad, I never went back after trying it twice because it was nauseating. The room was so small I had to McGuyver the airconditioner vents so they wouldn't blow directly on me all night. . . myself and several people from my group in seperate rooms also got stuffed up and puffy eyes from the a/c vent dilema. If you don't care about space and breakfast I'd reccommend the hotel. It's biggest plus is how quiet it is. I stayed a week and never heard a car or a door slam.....kuddos for the building design!

We stayed in a king room with jetted tub. The room was small but had all the amenities, was very clean, & was tastefully updated. The "jetted tub" was really a large jacuzzi in the bathroom. The "creek view" was over-rated, & our neighbors were audible in the morning, but we had a great stay - especially at this price point - & hope to return.

excellent stay. very friendly staff. clean room. good food (plentifull). Easy to find location. I stayed with my small dog (first time) and she seemed to like it , also. Highly recomendable. Was able to get a good nights sleep.

Nice hotel with clean accommodations the room had plenty of room for an over abundance of luggage without making the room feel cramped. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was good, the food was kept fresh and full, and the area was kept clean. The parking lot could use a little more room.
