I am currently writing this review as I am staying here. I had a decent stay until just moments ago! I was sitting in the lobby waiting for family when suddenly I heard a God-awful argument break out in what seemed like the office just behind the desk. There was yelling and screaming and what seemed like things being thrown. I couldn't understand anything as they were speaking Chinese (or maybe something else) but I felt truly uncomfortable here. This lasted for over 5 minutes when it broke out into the hallway. I saw one asian kid getting punched in the face repeatedly and pushed up against the wall. I'm not sure if I was more disturbed by this or the fact that the person working the desk (I think Isaac or something to that nature) seemed unmoved by it all - as if this occurs on a regular basis here. I asked him if it was staff or guests staying here and he said it was a disagreement between the owner. I simply couldn't believe that the owner of this hotel would scream (and physically abuse) someone here like this - especially in front of me, a loyal, paying customer. There simply is no excuse for this and I urge all people considering staying here to find somewhere else. If I had it my way, I would have this place closed and this owner sent to prison where apparently he belongs. I do not feel comfortable giving my hard-earned money so such an abusive person and you shouldn't either. I am now looking for a new place to continue my stay here in Salem, perhaps Best Western across the street, as I no longer feel comfortable at this location.
We have stayed in this hotel several times during our trips to California from British Columbia & back & have never been disappointed. The rooms are well appointed & clean & the rates give you good value for what you get. Two elevators assure no waits even during peak demand. The complimentary breakfast has always been very good with generous seating. The location works very well for us, close to I-5 & next door to Costco. We will stay here again!
If your looking for a great hotel to stay at with reasonable rates, very good and clean rooms and all the amenities a short stay needs like, fitness center, pool and wonderful wake up breakfast then you have found it here.
Easy on off from I-5, nice location and the owner and the staff ready do try to get a perfect score. I was impressed and see no reason to disappoint them. Would have stayed longer if i needed to. Cant think of one negative thing to say.
We really enjoyed our stay at La Quinta. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was perfect and we enjoyed the jetted tub. The breakfast had a great variety of choices. It was in a quiet area and the hotel itself was quiet. We got a restful nights sleep. We enjoyed our stay and will come back. We highly recommend staying here. Great value for the price!!
The staff was friendly and gave me a friendly greeting each time I passed the front desk...the room was clean and comfortable...the bed had a range of pillows from soft and flat to firm and full, making finding the right pillow easy and insuring a good nights sleep...even the free breakfast was good, although a better selection of fruit would be nice...I will definitely stay here the next time I am in Salem.
