Okay - I'm usually not one to give a bad review - but I am one to be honest - SKIP this hotel!!! It is as if they never finished construction! The pool area downstairs was already showing mold and rust and they had JUST opened! Something is seriously wrong with this hotel. I've stayed in LaQuinta's before and had zero problems - but follow my advice - this is one you don't want to stay at!
I had an unxpected business trip to the area, and the hotel was able to get me a room, as this was the busy rodeo time in Houston. I had a pleasant stay. Breakfast was good, mostly cold items, but they had eggs and sausage for a couple hot items. My stay was for 3 days, and the best thing about this hotel is its location. Its walking distance to lots of restaurants, fast food and sit down places. Also lots of shopping stores/department stores within walking distance. I didn't even have to drink the hotel coffee, as there was a starbucks close to the property. As a female, I felt very safe at this property, its a small property in a quiet area, but as i mentioned close to a lot of businesses. The best thing was, there is an enterprise rent-a-car next to the hotel, and as my flight was later in the day of my checkout, I dropped my car off, and then lounged in the hotel/nearby shops until my super shuttle picked me up. The one thing i would recommend is to teach the desk clerks some landmarks/directions, as they didn't know how to give directions to any of the more popular places in town.
We just returned from a seven night stay here. When we arrived and for a good deal of the time reception was unmanned. This is unsecure particularly as there are no safes or safety deposit boxes (unexplicable I think)
We had partly booked this hotel to have a pool but it was closed all week without explanation.
My Uncle's room had no electricity one night when a fuse tripped.
My Mum's TV didn't work.
The staff were generally unsmiling and didn't seem to care.
Restaurants and Walmart were all nearby.
Breakfast was OK (cereals, toast, bagles, waffles yoghurts and coffee)
Rooms were very generously sized but my Uncle's smelt a bit odd.
It's a shame really because it good be an excellent hotel with a bit more care and attention. It has put us off using La Quinta hotels if they don't care for details like this (and have no safes and care for security).
Find another place to stay. This La Quinta Inn and Suites in Missouri City is not worth what your charged. When I arrived with my children around 8:30 PM there was no one at the counter. Once we realized the clerk was sitting in the TV room watching TV she seemed a bit annoyed that we were needing her assistance to get to our room. We checked into our room and all seemed well until we all woke up the next morning to discover we were all sick due to the room AC Unit "crop dusting" us all night with gross dust and mold. It was so bad it looked like someone had taken a a old dirty dust mop and shook it over all our personal items, clothes, suit cases, tables, chairs....yuck! I took a wash rag and wiped the unit to see how dirty it was. Filthy. We were breathing that all night! Oh...and 10 police cars were summoned to the parking lot at 10:00PM! There was NO Manager on duty either. No one could address our complaints. We changed hotels!
I stayed here on a business trip. Thankfully, it was just for one night. I had been driving all day and booked this hotel because their web page featured a hot tub. At the end of the day I was looking forward to it. As I entered the front desk, there was no one around and a sign saying be right back enjoy a coffee etc. (Dangerous) anyone could have walked in unnoticed. When the clerk had arrived she was friendly but never mentioned wifi codes or breakfast times until I asked her for the information. The bathtub drain was blocked. After showering I found myself standing in dirty water. The hot tub was cold and very low on water. What a disappointment. The positives were that the room was clean. There were ample restaurants in the area. I wouldn't stay here again.
