"Good clean hotel, a bit out of date."

I've stayed at numerous La Quintas around the country, and this is by far the most out of date one so far. The building exterior didn't look anything like a La Quinta, more like an old converted hotel from the 80s. Upon arrival the inside was very nice, the lobby was clean and the front desk staffers were excellent and very friendly. Our room was ok, nothing spectacular as I've come to expect in La Quintas. The TV was an old Zenith CRT TV, which, although not a big deal, is a clear indicator of the hotels lack of willingness to modernize; I mean, if you're paying for the room, you should get what you expect in such a modernized chain. The location is great, just about 5 minutes away from downtown Williamsburg and next door to a Pancake house if you want a more extensive breakfast than the complimentary breakfast provided. The complimentary breakfast included the usual waffle maker, juice bar, and muffins with hardboiled eggs as well; more of an option would have been preferred, maybe throw in some bacon and sausage since they do have a restaurant inside, but not too much to complain about there. Overall the stay was good; the hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. One thing that bothered me was the fact that some of the staff doesn't speak any English; when we tried to get an extra towel from one of the maids they had to track down their coworker to translate for them which I though was kind of odd.
"Great Room- Some of the Staff Needs Retraining- Great Location"

The room was quite large as motel rooms go. There must have been at least 5 feet between the two beds for instance. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was decent size, however the separate sink area did not have enough counter space for alll your makeup. but there are two shelves underneath where a vanity would be in a home. Of course as all La Quinta's they are pet friendly and don't charge for pets. When you call this La Quinta, unless Jackie is on duty, everyone else takes forever to answer the phone. One nighttime agent did not put in our wake up call. We were disgusted at that. With the curtains drawn the room it pitch black (a good thing) but without the wake up call we thought it was the middle of the night when we should have already been out of our room enjoying Williamsburg. Our closet (next to the door) did not close right, and it took a long time (more than a day) to get all the hangers we requested (2 women traveling together). The location is extremely close to Colonial Williamsburg, the room rate was very low. The towels are nice quality. Our room was not ready when we arrived at 3:00 in the afternoon- and no real apology. That person needs further training in customer service and the room should have been ready long before. Jackie was the best in customer service of the people we dealt with at the hotel. She was great. Overall, we thought it was a great value, comfortable room and beds, and great location. We didn't watch any TV. We enjoyed several days in Colonial Williamsburg and probably will stay here again. We will let La Quinta know that some of the staff was not the best, but we were not paying for the Williamsburg Inn.
They are so good. Also great for our dogs! Lots of grass. They have a place for baggies for your dogs. They are well equipped. Food was great. Good choice of sweets. Along with good healthy food. Coffee was good. The man taking care of it had a great humor. Was telling jokes, made people laugh. Just everybody very nice! The room was very clean. Extra towels. We had a suite. Both sides were very clean.
The dining area was dirty during breakfast and there were no employees around to ask to take out the trash. The breakfast included waffle makers, hard boiled eggs, cereal, and some fruit. The breakfast is served until 10, but a lot of stuff was gone by 9. The room was VERY stuffy. You get what you pay for.
It is close to the attractions and local dining.
Stayed here over Holiday weekend. We had to change rooms first because TV was snowy like we were using rabbit ears. Second room was reserved for people who had the nerve to complain, very small right next to the elevator. Our room had a damaged wall from the door and could use some TLC.
