"A tired but adequate property"

Stayed in one of the suites recently--the room is huge but mostly wasted space. Check-in was flawless and courteous. Furniture is worn and not comfortable except for the bed which we both found to be excellent. Surprisingly small bathroom with a tub/shower and poor water pressure. There was a refrig (thanks!) and the wifi was strong. Despite its proximity to the hiway, it was amazingly quiet. Carpet was worn and stained and the breakfast was very fundamental; fortunately, there is a Denny's next door. The pool looks inviting and the grounds are clean and safe. We've been here two other times and, given its location, we will likely come back. This is an OK place for the price that's near stuff we want to be close to.

"a place to sleep, nothing more"

spent 5 nights there, probably about 2 nights longer than I wanted to, overall not bad for the price. We checked in after midnight and aside from a sign that said back in 5 min.got checked in although graveyard night desk person was not too customer service focused...likley why she is on night shift. When my wife originally booked was told we could reserve adjoining room, no such thing. Cleared it up with Manager next day and found the suite we were in large enough for all 3 of us. I found the beds quite comfortable, shower not so good unless under 5 feet tall and bath towels great if you're like 10 years old. I found the carpets to have a very grungy feel, best to walk around in slippers or sandals. The AC and TV system were great. The morning complimentry breakfast was something I avoided after first day, very crowded and unsupervised kids with a need to touch every food item. I would suggest going to breakfast next store at IHOP. The maids were awesome, did a nice job of cleaning the room each day and one lady even ran to get me some towels when we were at the pool and I'm sure she was finished her shift. The place is also a little run down, definitely needs a makeover.

"The room was fine but bathroom smell was terrible. The bathroom needs more cleaning."

We stayed there on 4th of July weekend because of the visit of Carlsbad outlet which is nearby. The location was good and check in was easy.Room was OK but there was a bad odor coming from the bathroom. The bathroom needs more cleaning. The carpet looked so old and dirty so we had to wear our slippers all the time.I think I won't try this location again.

"Hotel Stay"

Good place to stay in Vista if you have dogs. Has a pool too. near freeway for easy access. restaurants near by too. Rooms are nice. Enjoyed the stay and had a great time too. They offer breakfast but did not partake since I was too busy. There were no hotels near the area that I had to travel back and forth from each day so this was the alternative.

"Was involuntarily checked out by staff"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Jul 15, 2014

Just getting into San Diego for work on 7/14/14 I had checked into this location. During check-in the hotel clerk went over my reservation, which was made two weeks prior to check-in, and stated "we have you here till Friday (7/18)" which was what matched my reservation. Aside from the lack of wifi reception and no wired ethernet capabilties, even though there are cards in the room stating there are, I had no issues that night. Fast forward to after work 5pm on 7/15. I just so happened to have to go to the front desk to ask that my room be switched because of the lack of wifi I need to complete my work. I then come to find out that staff had given someone else my room they stated "I was checked out this morning and you left your luggage in the room." (I'd like to add what kind of morons find a giant suitcase in a room filled with clothes and don't double check the persons reservation for that room.) I showed them the reservation e-mail that shows that I am supposed to have the room till 7/18 then they followed up with "There are no other rooms available, sorry" Are you kidding me? What kind of INCOMPETENT EMPLOYEES do you have working at this place? Now not only do they have a hold on the entire amount of my stay but I can't get that money released to get another room somewhere else. THANKS LA QUINTA I'LL NEVER STAY AT ANOTHER LOCATION AGAIN.
