Our favorite La Quinta, and we stay at a lot of them around the country. Attractive lobby and rooms. Quiet. Staff friendly and helpful.
The only negative is the driveway entrance/exit is a little tough to negotiate. Otherwise, it's the best.
The most outstanding thing about this La Quinta is the overwhelming hospitality. Upon check-in we were invited to the happy hour with free food and drinks. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful! They offered all the typical La Quinta menu items but they also had biscuits and gravy as well as eggs.
This is a relatively new hotel, with rooms opening onto a central hallway, which is a plus for security and for quietness. When we arrived about 6 PM the guy who was the desk clerk greeted us with a smile and hearty Southern style welcome. Our rooms were ready, check-in was superfast. We then took advantage of the "happy hour" in the lobby, which had free chips, salsa and Chex mix with coffee and/or beer at no extra charge. The room was clean and beds comfortable. A plus for the room was that the TV menus offered a full range of channels from Direct TV. Breakfast was great with the usual assortment of dry cereals, fruit, pastry and self-serve hot waffles. But there was also a great addition of fresh scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits, sawmill gravy. Although the sausage looked rubbery, it was actually very delicious and tender. Our check out was fast and hassle free. The young lady who checked us out was friendly and a Southern charmer. The only negative experience in this stay was that at night with lights-out I could hear a very low-pitched hum, that droned continuously. Appears this may be coming from the ice machine that was a few doors down. I was able to ignore this and slept well.

A La Quinta traveler |
La Quinta is always a good value and this particular location is recently updated so all is new and fresh. There were a couple of minor service issues due to a really busy weekend with a soccer tournament in town but the rooms were spacious and beds comfy. I also appreciate that LaQuinta is a pet friendly hotel. We travel with a small dog and it worked really well for us as usual We typically choose LaQuinta due to its pet policy and this one is a really good place!
Tupelo was a stop on our motorcycle trip from Florida to Massachusetts. This is a beautiful hotel inside. Don't be fooled by the rather plain exterior! The lobby is really nice, updated and modern. The room was also exceptional. Also updated and clean. Linens were crisp and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Happy hour from 5-7 was a pleasant surprise. Free beer and snacks. Breakfast was excellent. The only negative was that the pool was closed. We will definitely return!
