In comparison with most La Quinta Inns this one is not on my recommended list. (And I belong to the La Quinta frequent membership because I usually like this chain) The pool was in need of resurfacing and fresh clean water (the water was a nice shade of green) so, I wouldn't dare go in it. The only nice thing about the rooms were the TVs. The corners needed cleaning, and it would have been nice if our room had basic supplies (TP and Tissues) When I informed the front desk we needed these items, I was told to come get them myself. The hotel is pet friendly (which is not a bad thing) but it would be nice if a section of the hotel was reserved for this. I was kept up by a dog that whined ALL night. And there was some sort of loud speaker or security radio that sounded right outside my door a few times during the middle of the night. I do want to say the only nice thing was the girl at the check-in, who was obviously over-worked and ALONE.. for keeping a smile on her face.
If you're looking for a down home feeling and missing that old government housing section eight ambiance, then this is the hood for you. Long term residence is the name of the game here. There are a number of low income families living in this hotel. The front desk concierges have become slum lords. This used to be a good hotel, not anymore. If you don't live here they could care less about giving you any help at all and that starts with an unprepared room, a towel over the smoke alarm, and a surly front desk. Remember, if you're not from the hood then don't stay here, oh and there's always a party in the back.
This is not intended for this hotel it was actually OK. But the best LQ I stayed in will always be the one in Montana. But the issues is the Columbus, GA LQ. Customers smoking Marijuana in their rooms (Towels sticking out from under there doors to keep the smoke from getting out into the hall. And this is what I am paying $75-100 dollars for from LQ. There has also been a epidemic of A/C units not working in rooms. How often are they checked. The staff is helpful with moving me to another room but who want's to have to move room every time they check into LQ. The room that they move me into seem to be rooms that some one may have just checked out of late and has not been clean. I am only assuming this since the wash cloths and towels are missing. The one in Columbus, Georgia even smelled like piss. I am a soldier and us to living in dirty environments, but if I am going to be paying $75 dollars for a room for me and my children it need to be clean (smell and look). I would rate that LQ in Georgia the worst I have stayed in ever. and If you look at my records you will see that I have stayed in a lot of LQ from Washington State to Florida. Thank you
The room was dirty. Surface cleaned only. Took comforter down and blood on white spread clearly visible!!! Disquisting! Used condoms outside of doorways. Terrible location with seedy looking people hanging outside the rooms. Whole area was awful.
Luckily this was just a stop on the way to the beach. There are so many problems at this place forget about trying to get towels or anything else. Seems to be alot of people living here. Alot of questionable goings on and security signs without the cameras? Last stay here but not last stay at Laquinta! Would not recommend older people or those that are vulnerable.
