Friendly staff, comfy room, great location, awesome price. The breakfast was good, could've a bit more healthy selection options but that was my only compliant. Otherwise, a nice, value priced hotel in a central location to most tourist activities.
After the disappointment of a "dump" in Capitol Heights MD, this was a breath of fresh air. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The Motel is very ckose I 64 (Interstate Highway awith easy access to the Ocean at VIrginia Beach. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Highly satisfied so far, so much so, that I cancelled all my reservations with Motel 6 and changed to La Quinta. Say no more.
The staff were friendly, knowledgable about the area, and seemed to adore the dogs staying in the hotel. The room was very clean and spacious and the bathroom, though simple, left nothing to be desired. All rooms were accessible from the outside which added to the pet friendliness of this location. The grounds were well maintained and clean, even with the large number of dogs in the hotel at the time.
Would highly recommend for someone traveling with their pets.
If you want the experience of hearing the couple in the next room in the throws of intimacy with the adjoining sound of the headboard about to come through the wall while your kids are sleeping, the smell of stale cigarettes embedded in the highly stained carpet (I suspect it was some form of DNA), the window actually coming out of the pane (the maintenance man actually had to nail it shut), an inverted sofa bed to sleep on and the ominous feeling that there was a crime scene chalk line cleaned off the floor just as you arrived, then this is the hotel for you. But hey, I only paid $30.00 after my wife raised hell!
P.S. - and that was the good part of our stay!
We came to Hampton from DC to our son's college graduation on Mother's Day driving 4 hours in traffic and serious rain. La Quinta Hampton was warm safe clean and comfortable and a good value as well! Beds were comfortable there was and ironing board.
