"Might have well been a hotel 6"

I shared a room for work and considering the multiple options was very surprised we ended up here. I was even more surprised when I found out it was a la Quinta. The lobby was clean and free breakfast had corn flakes, raisin bran, milk, juice, yogurt (one choice), muffin (banana nut, blueberry, and chocolate), bagel toast or waffle. The picture of lobby is all there is for seating. Rooms had a small closet, desk, dresser and end table between beds. With two full grown men we had to use beds to get into our bags and then place on floor. Beds had new looking comforters and seemed clean, but we're not pristine. Bathroom was small, I felt like I was taking a shower in an rv or ship and when sitting on the toilet I was touching bathtub on one side and wall on the other. You had to stand over toilet or in bathtub to get door shut. This was a decent hotel for the price but I was surprised it was a la Quinta and there are a lot of options just in the immediate area. Just off the highway and shares a parking lot with waffle house. Walmart just in the other side of a fence.
I always stay at a La Quinta Inn when I travel if at all possible. They seem to have a higher standard and their employee's care about their guest and your stay. I always feel welcome and ALMOST at home! They do what ever you request with out complaint and with a smile.
I have been staying with La Quinta almost 20 years and will not change . We are return members. Thank you for hiring such great employees.
Staff was excellent. I entered our room at 9:00pm Friday night and the TV didn't work. Within 5mins of my call to the desk a maintenance man came and fixed our remote control. Breakfast didn't include any protein items like boiled eggs or sausage patties for example. I asked the attendant and she said normally they do include that but she was alone running the reservation desk and breakfast that morning.
Only real complaint: I asked for a non-smoking room but we could definitely smell some smoke. No astrays in the room so we assumed it was coming from next door to a smoking room and the smell permeated through to our room. I'd suggest if you get a non-smoking room you inspect it first before taking the room and/or ask that there be no smoking rooms next to yours.
I've stayed at several LaQuinta properties and the quality is all over the board, but usually barely ok. I didn't have a choice this time, I needed to stay in this part of town, and all the good hotels were fully booked, so I took a chance. Good things: the room was well appointed for the price, with free internet. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. However, the stay started on the wrong foot because they hadn't been updated and trained on how to handle changes to my reservation made through hotels.com. At one point, both they and the website insisted they could not make the change. Finally, the lady at the desk admitted they didn't know how to handle the kind of reservation I made, but they fixed the problem and all was well. I can't fault the person at the desk--management should have ensured she knew the right procedure. When we got to the room, it REEKED from cigarette smoke. I'm not sure it hotels.com or laquinta gave me a smoking room, but the hotel was fully booked so there was no alternative. The room wasn't too clean, with ashes on the floor in the bathroom. The next day, I asked the housekeeper if she had anything she could spray to get rid of some of the smoke and she was obliging. It makes me wonder why they don't clean the room and spray for smoke all the time. The bed wasn't very comfortable, my neck is still sore from our two nights there. the towels were thin and small, and pretty shabby. So, this is it. I'm officially never staying at LaQuinta again.
The room is very clean and convenient to the highway. However, the room is tiny, even for a La Quinta. It is not even big enough for a second end table by the beds. the staff was friendly but reserved. We asked what was in the area and the clerk was not very knowledgeable about the local area but did know what was in the Oklahoma City area. We walked to Walmart and there is a Waffle House in the parking lot.
