"Check prices hourly (!)"

This is an attractive, sometimes inexpensive motel. We found it clean. Their policies are great: no charge for dogs and free wi-fi. The breakfast is really quite acceptable. The location is o.k., close enough to Portland, plus its immediate neighborhood is totally nonthreatening and there are restaurants very nearby. The rooms have a refrigerator and microwave. All very cool. It does have its idiosyncrasies, however. They have done some things on the cheap, such as putting no alarm clock in the rooms (o.k., so some people steal them and you can get a wake-up call) and only one ice machine in the whole facility. But frugal is good, I guess. It should keep the rates low. They also have a remote, video monitoring system, so the desk clerk sits behind a wall in the lobby (making it appear as if nobody is staffing the reception counter) and watches screens showing views throughout the hotel. Weird. But what bugged me most is that the price varies. We had booked a room for Wednesday and Thursday nights at AAA rates. Wednesday: $59. Thursday: $61. Our plans changed, so we had to cancel those two nights and tried to book a room for Friday night, but the rate was now $98. We turned that one down. When we drove back to Portland on Sunday night and just walked in, the rate was $67. And the staff never knows what the rate is without looking it up; according to one staff person, it changes "hourly." Their computer pricing system may be so sophisticated that it maximizes their profits based on existing and projected registrations, but it certainly makes planning difficult for their customers.
Can't beat the value as well the proximity to Portland only 8 miles south. They cleaning staff needs to be more diligent to make sure the shower is clean and free of debris. The hotel chain needs to invest in new mattresses and make sure screens are on windows. Besides that was a decent stay for the price.
My family and I stayed here while my husband worked his travel job down the street. the room was very comfortable for our family of 4 and the beds were so comfortable!! The staff here made our stay accommodating and memorable. From Dana who made sure my daughter had a band-aid when she complained that her finger hurt and ensured we had warm chocolate chip cookies nightly to the sweet ladies who worked the front desk ensuring we had towels for the pool and the nice man who told us the best Pizza joint in town. The staff really went out of their way to make sure we will come back!! thank you for a great stay! I would recommend this hotel for the comfort and hospitality!!! Enjoy!! - Sam, Luis, Lyla and Mia
We stayed here for 2 nights. The accomdations were excellent for the very reasonable price. We brought our grandkids over to swim in the pool, the breakfast had reasonable choices. The coffee in the lobby was a great extra perk. Our room was clean and was very comfortable. We would definately stay here again. The customer service was excellent. Close access to get on and off freeway.
"great experience & great value traveling with my great dane"

One of my favorite things about LaQuintas is that they don't add on extra charges when I travel with my great dane. She's very friendly, quiet, and sleeps on the floor and shouldn't be penalized for traveling with me.
All the staff I encountered at this hotel were extremely warm, friendly, and helpful!!!
