A La Quinta traveler |
Front desk gave us directions to the cruise terminal and to a local restaurant Rusty's. Had an excellent seafood dinner. Great staff and breakfast was plentiful and served in a pleasant room. The room itself was clean and comfortable for the four of us.
We stayed at this hotel after getting back from a cruise. The location was good. The breakfast was average. The beach is a short walk across the street. We plan to take another cruise and stay at this location. They do have a park and ride promotion. Staff at the desk was friendly. The is a Denny's next door. The landscaping was nice. The rooms are basic rooms. The pool area is nice. There was a microwave and small frig in the room. Will stay here again when in the area.
Lets start with noting that I didn't stay at this hotel because I was staying at Cocoa Beach. We were booked on a cruise leaving Port Canaveral, and when looking for a pre-cruise place to stay we came across this property. The clincher was that they offer a "Park and ride" package here, where you can leave your car in their parking lot and take a shuttle to the cruise terminal.
In terms of a place to stay, it is your typical 2-bed hotel room. Really nothing spectacular about it. The beds were okay for a night or two, but if I were to stay longer, I think I would've started having some back problems. The property is across A1A from the beach, but there is a good cross-walk right at the corner of the property and a public beach access at less than a 3 minute walk from the hotel. The pool seemed clean, although we didn't wander into the pool area at all.
Breakfast was your standard La Quinta breakfast; cereals, coffee, juice, bread products. They did have "omlettes" and sausage patties that were obviously heat-and-serve variety, but it did get the job done.
The people there, though, are super friendly. The desk staff was always smiling and were all about solving any problems rather than avoiding them. The lady running the breakfast was always ready to bring more of anything you needed, and was a welcome island of calm in an otherwise chaotic morning.
We arrived early and were told that we couldn't check in until 3pm regardless if room was ready or not. When we did get up to our room, keys wouldn't work. The office, sent 2 mntce men up, their master keys wouldn't work and they had to 'jimmy' the door open, we were given 2 new keys after they took apart the entire lock and put it back together. For about the 1st 45 minutes there we had the maintenance man with us in our room and were unable to get showered etc. We got ready to leave to go to dinner and tried our 'new' keys to make sure we would be able to get back in, and of course they didn't work again. We had to wait longer for them to fix it again. At 2am that nite the fire alarm goes off for about 45 min and we are told 'we are pretty positive there isn't a fire, but the fire dept is coming anyway' we were thinking there was a possibility that we would have to vacate and couldn't sleep anymore. The next morning, after complaining already, we go back to room and again are locked out and have to wait again for yet another key.....horrible stay....won't go back to this hotel again!!!
We stayed here for 3 nights... When I first walked into the room it appeared clean but after looking closely I was very disappointed and disgusted. If you have pet allergies of any kind stay away from this hotel. The carpet was disgusting all I could smell was animal urine. The bathtub had small curly hairs on the backside of the tub. I tried calling the front desk on many occasions and the line was always busy. I tried going to the front desk with only one woman working chatting on the phone for 15 minutes before even acknowledging that I exist. The customer service was terrible. The parking is a huge problem, we had to park on the opposite side of the building. I went to go get the continental breakfast, they were out of waffle batter so a man told the woman that was working. She said thank you then shut the door. I waited by the door for 10 minutes thinking she is getting more but when she opened the door she started doing dishes ignoring the fact that there were guests waiting on the waffle mix. I then left packed my stuff and moved to another hotel. I have stayed at many hotels, visiting 6 different countries, we are world travelers and this has been by far the worse experience at any hotel that I've stayed at in the world.
