The location and hwy access of the property was great, as can travel to other beach towns.
The overall property was clean and the employees were helpful and personable. The rooms were clean. The daily continental breakfast was fine. There was coffee brewed throughout the day and night if you wanted to have some. The check-in and check-out process was quick and the desk clerks wanted you to be happy with your rooms. If you needed anything you just had to ask and they tried their best to accommodate you. I will stay at this property again, should the need arise to go back to this location.
This is right around the corner from our daughter's house. We tried it because it was very reasonable. It is new. There is a small heated pool and hot tub, and free breakfast. The staff is very accomodating. It is minutes from the beach. The rooms are very nice and very clean. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast was continental, with a good variety of things to eat. We stay there whenever the whole family ccomes to my daughter's house, and we have been very pleased every time.
Being a technical person, whenever I go traveling I almost always find little things wrong with or broken in the room, regardless of how nice the establishment may be. I just have a knack of finding things like that. Usually simple things like a burnt light bulb, an alarm clock that doesn't work properly, a drain plug that doesn't seal completely, a toilet that doesn't flush properly, or a broken lamp shade. These are some of the things I remember. Things like this are not critical and they don't really bother me, I just notice them. It's practically a game for me to find these things. Well my wife and I stayed at La Quinta for 2 nights, and this is the first time I couldn't find anything wrong with the room. I was amazed and for the first time I LOST the game... La Quinta WON! Congrats!

After a disastrous experience at another hotel, booked this one last minute via Priceline at a much better price than LQ was offering in its web site. Extremely tired after a long drive and my first hotel not suitable. Thought I had paid for this up front.
Although I was mistaken about the payment, the front desk had no information on its computer regarding my reservation. So there I was in the lobby with my two cats for nearly an hour, with Kushbu, the helpful front desk clerk, trying her best to pull up my reservation, even though I was able to show it to her on my smart phone. Much hassle with LQ central.
Finally got into the room and got the cats set up.The room was decent, and I was out like a light. That was Thursday.
Friday night, I needed to create some docs and email them. No Internet connection! Finally used my friend's smart phone as a mobile hot spot and emailed myself the docs. Went to the lobby to use the one computer available for guests. Their copy of Word had expired! After some hassle, managed to print my docs.
One other negative...sound travels between rooms. Mercifully, the crying, screaming child in the next room wore itself out about 15 minutes before I crashed on Thursday night.
Hotel is very close to Monmouth Race Track, but a short drive from Rte. 18, and a hike from the Garden State Parkway.

What a great experience! Finding a clean, attractive, friendly, fairly-priced hotel that allowed me to have my dog (a traumatized rescue that I cannot board or leave) with me. It was a really relaxing time and pleasant experience, everything very clean and nice. One problem: if you want a healthy breakfast bring your own as their offerings are plentiful and varied but all high carb (the bad kind) and high sugar (except for the corn flakes).
