We stayed one night in Joplin. Check in was efficient and welcoming. The hotel room was clean and comfortable although the sofa was quite old.
Unfortunately the hot tub was out of order, I was looking forward to that after a long day of driving. The pool was as warm as bath water! The exercise room didn't have any sanitizer and the bike seat was broken.
The breakfast was very good and the staff friendly.
This property exceeded our expectations. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and it's in a great location with an easy access to the interstate. I would definitely stay here again when in town.
Desk clerk with bushy hair had a bad attitude. The little troll gave us a room by the ice machine after telling us that we should be grateful to have a room at the price paid by Hotwire. Kids were playing in the halls all night with no sound-proofed doors so it was difficult to sleep. After telling us that we should never use Hotwire again, and that getting a queen bed after we requested a king in advance was really still a bargain, he said that we should only book through La Quinta from now on. He had no business working the desk at a three star establishment, and I will be sure to inform Hotwire of the disrespect showed to us. The breakfast served made me sick so would not recommend that to anyone. Finally, the hot tub was not in service so we didn't get the benefit of the three stars at all.
We stayed at this hotel May, 2013 and it by far exceeded our expectations. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. The gentleman behind the desk was polite and even showed a room to me to see what I would receive. We stayed in a King-suite for the night. It was spacious even with the king bed, couch, oversized chair/ottoman, bench, desk and dresser. The breakfast had everything that you could ever want and even had a host and hostess asking if we found what we needed and was constantly wiping tables as people left. There was minor construction items on floor #1 but was not an inconvenience at all....a good hotel is always making modifications and adjustments in my book. Overall it was a good hotel for the price. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if we are in the Joplin area.
Stopped here for one night in Joplin. GREAT staff. Clean, cheap bed for the night. Everything worked. Good bar/restaurant attached to the hotel. Starbucks next door. Lame breakfast. But they have the Holiday style pancake machine!! Love it. It was a short stay so I didn't get a chance to check out any other amenities, but if I were traveling thru again I would definitely stay here. Excellent value.
