"Excellent place to stay in Casper, Wyo."

I had a run of bad luck at two Casper motels I will keep nameless. This was an excellent find, especially for the price. It is pet friendly, a requirement for me as I travel with the world-famous Sophie dog.
The room was clean, had a great flat-screen TV and free wifi. It also had a microwave and mini-refrigerator.
The complimentary breakfast had great coffee and two hot items (one was make it yourself, such as pancakes). It also had plenty of coffee urns and muffins, bagels, etc.
The bathroom was a pleasant surprise and would benefit those who travel with others. The sink and mirror were outside of the bathroom (bath/tub and toilet), so someone could use the sink and not interfere with someone taking a shower.
One minor complaint is probably the same that many places are battling: Lack of electrical outlets now that so many people have cellphones, laptops, kids with handheld videogames, etc. A few outlets were available, but they were hard to find and reach. Thirty years ago, OK. Today, not so much.
Because of my dog, I asked for and received a first-floor room.
Stopped here with a senior tour group on our way home from the Colorado Rockies. It was a typical LaQuinta - low budget and dated rooms. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was hanging loosely from the wall. The smoke alarm disk was also hanging from the wall in the bedroom. These are not good signs. One wonders if these items were working. The room and bathroom was clean. The mattress and pillows were good. The ice machine was filthy dirty. Do you want ice cubes from it? The breakfast was mediocre. There was lots of bacon available and a variety of muffins. There was no bread available. They were out of scrambled eggs. Cereal was available, English muffins and bagels. Just some toast for me please and I'm happy. The breakfast attendant advised me that although they didn't have bread, other options were available (English muffins and bagels). Would not come back here or go to another LaQuinta. My husband and I can do better than that!
I've stayed here twice--August of 2012 and August 2013. My main reason for returning is the great bicycle/walking path along the river which passes within a block from the motel. Also, La Quinta allows dogs, which is important to me. Quite clean, good service, but nothing extraordinary. Air conditioning is a bit loud, which is a common problem. Quiet, bed OK.
The LaQuinta in Casper Wy is a great place to stay. my stay was longer than a week. The staff tooke excilent care of my room and were very nice to me. I really liked the bed was sad to leave it. Thanks for making my stay so nice.
The room was clean, the bed was great and the location was ideal for my needs. I stayed at five (5) different hotels on this trip and La Quinta one of the top two. The hotel was spacious and provided electrical outlets in the area that I needed to find electrical outlets. The hotel was not overly memorable but the fact that I don't have any notes on things I hated or what I would change says a lot.
