We stayed here overnight on our way to Toronto. it was reasonably easy to find and also also reasonably priced. We wanted a little something for dinner and the pleasant girl at the desk recommended the pizza place next to the motel. The pizza was good. The breakfast had a variety of hot and cold choices. t was very quiet yet convenient to the interstate.
In the morning we walked thru Highland Park where the lilacs were in bloom. This historic Olmstead designed park is a real treat and should not be missed if you are near the city.
We were in town for a wedding. One of the other couples had called and made reservations, but they were misplaced. After literally 30 minutes of negotiating and discussing the very same point over and over with a desk clerk who began by saying they were fully booked, voila! a room appeared but not at the rate it was reserved. There were some issues with our room that were surprising at first; obviously missing furniture as a case in point. The desk did their best to solve those, it developed they were remodeling. It would have been nice if that had been apparent when we booked. There are the basic services you would expect from a lower priced hotel, and nothing more. Room was clean, service beyond the initial melodrama was average. Because of its location, which is convenient to me personally - I grew up in a suburb of Rochester - I intend to try it again. A similar experience and it will be the last.
We travel with our small dogs, and it's a real treat to find a hotel that not only welcome all of us, but provides first-class accomodations at a reasonable price. The included breakfast was a couple of notches above what we find at many other hotels in this price range,and the mattesses were comfortable and provided the best night's sleep of our trip! I would say you can't go wrong spending the night at LaQuinta!
We visit Rochester frequently for the Museum of Play with our 3 and 5 year old and this time we decided to Priceline the night's stay and got this hotel. It was under $80 and that works for us. Breakfast, a pool, clean room and adequate staff and we are good to go. We walked to dinner across the street @ TGIF and enjoyed the 24 hour complimentary coffee in the lobby. Close to downtown Rochester without the dodgy neighbourhood....Henrietta is way nicer.
Six minute drive from the museum, we will return.
Out stay was to say the least a true disappointment. Between rude, and impersonal management, Scott offered nothing to reserect are stay. The fact that are children were exposed to prostitution, and dirtiness was unexpected.
