The hotel was in an easy to find location and the staff was professional. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is nothing special but nice to have some food available. The pillows on the bed were very hard and made sleeping difficult.
We were relocating from Texas to Massachusetts and this hotel stay was day three of a 4 day travel. Our traveling party included three adults, 2 dogs, 1 cat, and a fish. I cannot say enough nice things about this hotel. I really appreciate that pets stay free, but the staff is what makes this La Quinta wonderful. When we checked in, one staff member was patiently explaining, and reexplaining, how to get on the WiFi network to a person with limited computer knowledge. She was marvelous at helping the female guest. It seems customer service is a dying art and this La Quinta staff person had what it takes. I am sorry, I never saw the staff members name, so I cannot give kudos directly.
The suite we had was huge and accommodated the adults without a problem. We never felt like we were tripping over each other or the animals. Bathroom was large; the only complaint was the jacuzzi tub was difficult to step into because of the high sides, but easily managed by paying attention. Our room was on the top floor and we had a great view of the surrounding area - hills were so pretty during our stay. In front of the hotel is a large field (1/2 acre maybe) that was well located for the dogs, just at the front of the parking lot. The included breakfast had eggs (real, not powdered) along with sausage, breads, fruits, cereals, juices and coffee. The dining area was clean and well maintained.
Great location, reasonable, and accommodating staff. Because of the welcoming staff, I hold this hotel in high regard!
"Good hotel and location for Blue Ridge Mountains"

After a long days driving in the rain from Virginia Beach, it was good to arrive at this hotel. The check in person was extremely friendly and efficient. The type of room requested was provided and was extremely comfortable and well appointed.
The La Quinta brand offer gives free WiFi availability. In this instance I could not log on and this was also experienced by some other guests. Regrettably, therefore, I have to mark down to 4/5.However, there was an internet facility provided in the lobby and I was able to acces my e mail. This is not quite the same as being able to spend time in one's room doing e mails and stuff.
Nevertheless, this was an enjoyable one night stay and I was sorry to leave in the morning.
One other observation about La Quinta's hotels that we have experienced so far is that although the "bright side" breakfast is provided, there appears not to be enough space to accommodate evrybody, especially if all rooms are booked.
We were so tired from traveling when we saw the La Quinta sign in the distance, and with no hesitation at all, and with great relief we pulled into the driveway...we were so pleased with the way we were greeted by the desk personnel, and how helpful she was ! The room was spotless, and the beds were so comfortable...our little pup was so happy to get out of the car and go in with us...so many times she has had to stay in the car, because the motels are not pet friendly...it is not only dangerous because of the heat/ or cold, but also against the law in so many places to leave pets in vehicles...That is one of the main reasons we have chosen to stay in La Quinta Inns...we don't feel right leaving her out in the car....The breakfast was ok; not terrific, but, good, and the lady serving was generous with us being a little late in being there...she didn't rush us, and was very helpful...the coffee was awesome !! The whole hotel was very clean, and that really matters to us....
I was very pleased with my stay at the La Quinta Inn in Wytheville, VA. The hotel was immaculately clean. My three dogs--two greyhounds and a whippet--were made to feel welcome. Everything was ready for my arrival. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had a very nice room with brand new mattresses and they didn't even mind that I had three dogs.
