"Good Location for Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld Visitors"
4 of 5 stars Reviewed Jul 27, 2014

If you're going to either (or both) of the amusement parks, this hotel is right in the middle of the two. My family and I only went to Fiesta Texas during our stay. Even with moderate to heavy traffic, it was only a 10-15 minute drive to the park. It was worth it to drive a little bit farther to save some money from the hotels right by the park. Employees at the counter for both check-in and check-out were friendly and accommodating. Other employees we encountered were also reasonably friendly and polite. Free wi-fi and a breakfast of more than muffins and donuts are a must for my family. The wi-fi connection here was lacking. I was barely able to get pages to load a lot of the time. I don't know if the signal was just too weak, the connection was just slow or if it was just overloaded with users, but it could be better. Breakfast was pretty good. Scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, toast, cereal, muffins, bagels...there was a good selection. We were able to eat a big enough breakfast that we could wait until mid-afternoon for a late lunch/dinner, which helped us save money even more. Our king room was spacious and comfortable. The mattress was comfortable and the pillows were nice and soft. Our biggest problem was noisy neighbors with kids running around all night long sounding like a gymnastics team. There is also only one elevator for this 4-story hotel. If you need to use the elevator during peak times, be prepared to wait as you listen to it go up and down. All in all it was a good place to stay. We'll strongly consider staying again if we're in town.

"Horrible customer service!"

At first glance this hotel seems like it was going to be a great stay.As we entered the room,we were hit with the over whelming smell of Mold, and dirty feet. Then we pull back the sheets on both beds and one was clean while the other look like some was had slept in it.The bed had black stuff stuck to it and drool stains on the pillow case and two imprints like someone had laid on the bed. Then on the floor there were cherry pits and sausage wrappers from the previous guest. So we had to go down stairs and get new sheets, which they did give us so that was good. Then next morning we spoke with the front desk to tell them what we found and they could care less and in fact said in the 20 plus years this employee worked here they Never have had dirty sheets.Very rude.So we decided to stop the maid cleaning in the hall way and told her our issues, and she said she would clean our room properly. She did a great job,we were pleased. The mold smell had even decreased. Also breakfast was ok,except they have the waffle maker in the middle of the buffet line and it backs up out the door and others have to wait to get other food even if your not getting waffles. So my suggestion to this hotel is to move waffle maker to a better place. It is a very busy hotel and kids were roaming around dripping wet from the pool all over the main hallways that are tiled which could be a hazard. This is a franchise property and the owner is the General manager which he is never there to resolve issues, the front desk tries to hide all matters from him and they fail to please the customer!

"Terrible customer service."

Terrible customer service. The hotel receptionist put us in a room that had the carpet soaked in rain water from the previous day. The room smelled moldy, mildewy, and like urine. When I went to ask for another room, I was told that there were no other rooms. "Dan" spoke to me in a demeaning way, and refused to give me the name of the manager and I asked him 6 times! Another employee witnessed the entire discussion, and after I walked away , because I was not getting anywhere with this guy, and being tired of being treated, The other employee went to my room and moved us to another room. La Quinta staff was perfectly OK with leaving my 22 month toddler, my wife and myself in a room that was full of mold in the carpet. Anybody with basic science background knows that exposure to mold, even short exposures can cause respiratory problems. It is very disappointing that after sending an email to the manager, I did not receive a reply. I at least expected a standard B.S. response, but I didn't even get that. If I were you, I'd pass on this hotel. I know I will next time we are in San Antonio.

"Good for Pets"
4 of 5 stars Reviewed Jul 22, 2014

When traveling with our cats, we look for a place with box frames under the bed, so that the cats don't try to hide under the bed when it is time to go on the next day. We had called ahead to confirm and found they were just as advertised, plus the room was larger than expected.. There were no places to hide, so we made it back to the car without any hassle. The light breakfast (powdered scrambled eggs), make your own waffles and sausage, along with a few cereals, breads and drinks was satisfactory, but not delicious. We didn't get to use the pool or any amenities, but the place was very clean and the people at the desk were friendly. We booked through our AAA website.

This hotel was in a very convenient location for six flags and sea world. Hotel staff was very nice. I wish the pool was a bit bigger and area around the pool cleaner. Overall I would definitely stay here again.
