"Nice Stopover"

Traveling from Palm Beach County FL this hotel is about a nine hour drive. Just enough for the first day for this snow bird. Nice rooms etc etc. Aren't they all the same
No great restaurants in the area but lots of fast food joints. McD-KFC-Subway etc. All I need for a stopover. I only wish the breakfasts were better. All these chains just cant get it right. It's ok but it could be better. Spent a week in a inexpensive hotel in Paris (Hotel California Saint Germain) Much better breakfast--better breads, meats, eggs etc etc. And it was cheaper then LaQuinta. Rooms were worse. So maybe it is an even steven.
My husband, toddler son and I stayed at this hotel for one night on our way to our final vacation destination. The location is conveniently located off I-77. However, when we arrived later in the evening, there were a lot of people just hanging around the outside of the hotel, in the parking lot and by the empty lot next to the parking lot, which made me feel a bit uneasy.
The hotel itself looks a bit dated and in need of a facelift, but everything was fairly clean and neat. We had paid a little extra for the king executive suite with sleeper sofa so we'd have extra room for our energetic son. We were given a room on the top floor at the end of the hall. The room was HUGE! The layout was a little strange, but it worked for one night. The beds were super comfortable and the room was quiet, so we got a great night's sleep.
In the morning, we had their free breakfast. We all found it a little lacking. There weren't as many choices as we would have liked, but the coffee was drinkable and we found a banana and yogurt for our picky son. We had originally made a waffle for all of us to share, but it was inedible. It tasted sour/rotten. I think there was something wrong with the mix. Also, I was a little unhappy with the employee working in the breakfast area. She was very slow, kept knocking things over on the counter (food, utensils, etc.) and was touching food items as she set up without gloves on.
All in all, though, it was a decent stay in a convenient location. We appreciated the comfy beds, clean and large room, and the convenience of breakfast that at least filled us up enough so we could get on our way. We would stay here again if we needed a room for a stopover.
Even though I was near the elevator I did not get disturbed.
The ice machine was by the elevator and even that did not keep me up. The temperature was comfortable and stayed that way all night. The air-conditioner was the best because it ran at a steady pace and off and on. If in the area and need a room I will stay at this LQ.
I went to this hotel for graduation at fort Jackson it was close to the base. The room and the employees were wonderful I really enjoyed my stay. I would definatly stay there again. The bed was so comfortable and the room was very clean
We recenyly attended graduation at Fort Jackson. Our stay began with the desk staff allowing us to check in three plus hours early and were able to find us two rooms close together that had already been cleaned, a nice surprise for weary travelers. The rooms are clean and affordable and a bargin complete with free continental breakfast. Nice clean pool area is good place to relax between events at base. Desk staff was exceptional especialy Patrice who was always pleasent and informative. On the last night I wanted to print boarding passes but the toner ran out, at that point General Manager Vinnie P suggest that I email my tickets to him and at the end of his shift (working desk) would go to his office and print them and they were waiting for me in the mourning at the desk. NICE Cose to Fort Jacksons Gate and walking distance to most needs. Thank You LQ Staff
