"Excellent Staff Service"

Our SEVENTH personal-travel extended stay at this location due to it's proximity to family and central SD freeways(and therefore everything SD), and affordable rate incl breakfast, internet, pool, laundry, parking. Usually stay at Hilton or Wyndham on business trips; so, like the somewhat experienced traveler, I understand hotel cost to value trade-offs. Also, I don't hesitate to require remedies to imperfections.
WHAT MAKES THIS La QUINTA EXCEPTIONAL IS THE STAFF, WHO DELIVER 5-STAR SERVICE EVERY VISIT! They instantly have accommodated every request for general room location, extra towels, pillows, and blankets. Most recently, PHOENIX NEWMAN kindly, cheerfully, and efficiently tracked down and returned prescription glasses forgotten in a room safe! Her responsiveness was extraordinary.
We haven't experienced any faults. For the rate, our rooms exceeded expectations in comfort, cleanliness, and daily maid service quality.
A happy surprise is to find affordability backed by the customer service standards of a 5-star hotel. Without exception, the staff are marvelous. How eager to please the maids were touched us.
This place has a real motel feel. The breakfast is pretty typical to slightly below average for a hotel in this class, but when I was there it was insanely crowded. Had to eat standing up or take to go both days. The halls are exposed to the elements, which is cool in climates of this type. It rained and the water pooled in the corridors, so I had to tiptoe through it. No one removed it all day. Seemed to occur on several floors. More like what one would expect in countries south of here. The room was good enough, bed comfortable and wi-fi decent. So if you want a centrally locacted place in SD at a good rate. It is worth considering.
we had a few problems with our keys but ariana was very personable and escorted to our room (even if she walks with a cane). she was very sweet and helped with makin plans. thank you lq for everything.
The beds were very comfortable and the maid service, price, and location were good. However, the wi-fi didn't work for 4 out of the 6 days we stayed. (To compensate us, they removed the $8/night parking fee.) The toilet didn't flush our first night but was fine afterwards. The breakfast was pretty good but the equipment was not: one of the toasters broke (resulting in a very long line) and the coffee machine in the breakfast room quit working the last day. The staff was friendly but the owners need to update things BEFORE they break.
We had four queen rooms for our family trip. Two of the rooms had not been cleaned at all when we opened our doors, so had to double up for a short while.nice big fridges in room. Separate area for sing and toilet/shower which made it nice. Had stayed here previously but in a King. They are more comfortable because there is other seating besides sitting in a bed. Housekeeping does a very efficient job cleaning. Three of the rooms had major difficulties with the key card entities. My niece said she finally had it figured out "31 swipes and it opens, must be a safety thing!" They finally took the whole thing off the door of my daughters room and moved her to another room a floor up. This was somewhat of an inconvenience because we wanted rooms together. There were no rooms that had doors between to begin with. They have their kings on one side of the building and queens on another side. They have a nice breakfast, but if you are watching your weight it is all carbs with the only protein being hard boiled eggs. When we stayed here last year there was. I chg for parking, but now is $8.00 @ day. Nice restaurants within walking distance. Great front deck people. After site seeing all day it would be nice if the pool stayed open until midnight instead of closing at ten. There is a heavy trafficked hi way in front, but the rooms are really quiet.
