"Nice and Pet Friendly"

As with other La Quinta hotels, this one is pet friendly, so to the reviewers that complained of subsequences of animals in the hotel--go somewhere that doesn't allow pets! I can overlook a stain or two, but more importantly there was no mold, chips or cracks in the bathroom or elsewhere. The room was very clean, staff was efficient although not friendly, and my complaints are few. The mattress was hard, not a pillow top, the outside is lit up all night and we had some collateral light filtering into our room, the hotel is a little difficult to find, and there was a big, nasty water bug in the pool that tried to dock on my leg. Ugh.
I still would return here and recommend it to others.
Came to see the Port St. Lucie Mets play ball and stayed here because of the location. Wonderful choice, staff friendly and efficient, room very clean, hallways and lobby immaculate. You will not go wrong staying here.
LaQuinta is a great hotel to stay. LaQuinta is very quiet, clean, and right next to the Florida Turnpike. The price is very reasonable. If you have a pet, this is the place to stay. I would certainly recommend staying a LaQuinta for convenience. There are several restaurants in the area to eat, drug store, Wal-Mart's, and convenience stores
Stayed here for one night during a long drive to Miami, and had mixed feelings about the place. I was looking for a cheap, no-frills hotel, but because the reviews of the nearby hotels in the $40-50 price range were so bad, I thought I'd splurge and stay at La Quinta instead.
THE GOOD: The hotel is well-located. It's right off the highway, but far enough that you hear no road noise at all. Several restaurants are less than a mile away. The hotel itself is nicely decorated and looks like it's been remodeled within the past couple of years. My first-floor room was very big, plenty of space, with a big desk, fridge, and microwave. The bathroom was also big and clean, as was most of the room. The morning breakfast had a good variety of food, and added value to the hotel when factored in with the free WIFI.
THE BAD: My room was advertised as having a pillow top mattress, but the actual mattress was pretty firm and flat and not very comfortable. The hotel also has noise issues, especially in the first-floor rooms. When I looked out my window, the pool was literally 8 feet away. Because of that, I heard pool noise until nearly bedtime. And since the lights around the pool stayed on all night, these shined through my window even with the drapes drawn completely. I was also kept awake until nearly 2am by the TV in the next room. Either the walls here or very thin, or the TVs are not set to "hotel mode," which limits the volume.
THE UGLY: There were one or two small stains on the carpet which weren't terrible, but which probably could be cleaned if someone put some effort into it. My biggest complaint, though, was the fact that the sheets on the bed were micro-thin and very cheap, like something you'd see in a cut-rate hospital, and they were threadbare and had one or two holes in them which had been poorly mended. The thin blanket on top also showed a lot of wear and had one or two small holes as well. I know hotel sheets take a lot of abuse from repeated use and many washings, but when they get holes in them, it's time to throw them out.
All in all this was a totally average hotel; not bad if you can get a discount rate, but definitely not top quality either.
We didn't plan on this stay but packed just in case. Started raining very hard at the end of the day so we didn't feel like driving 90 minutes back home and we had to be back the next day so I grabbed one of those discount books at the gas station and got a great rate on this room. Less than what Motel 6 wanted. With the exception of a couple of stains in the rug (chances are you will encounter this at any pet friendly hotel) the room was very clean and very spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Not as much as a Hampton or a Holiday Inn but way better than a Days Inn. The micro/fridge was a plus with our leftovers that night as was the 37" flat screen. Plenty of outlets to power up all those gadgets we travel with. There were several families staying there with dogs but for the most part a very quiet night. Some people did show up around 1:00AM with a couple of noisy dogs but they hushed up in 15 minutes so it was just a minor interruption in our sleep. Breakfast had French toast sticks, bacon and a waffle maker but ran out off eggs. Otherwise very good with fruits and yogurt and served in a nice spacious area. Went down to the front desk to get a comb and the poor clerk that had checked me in 14 hours ago was still there. Still nice and friendly after all those hours. Definitely worth the money even without the coupon.
