"Dog friendly"

We stayed there with our dog. They were very accommodating and the service was good. The staff were extremely friendly. The rooms were clean and air conditioned well in the heat. It is 15 minutes from Blowing Rock and 5 from the old part of town. It is an easy ride to and from the Blue Ridge. Less than 10 minutes.
Cons: Check-in time took 20 minutes due to only one desk clerk and two people in front of me that took entirely way too much time to check in with all their issues and problems. I wished the hotel would have had another clerk to check-in other customers like me who checked in with a pet in about 2 minutes. Another complaint was that the water from the sink in our room didn't get hot the first night. My guess was that this was due to the hotel being fully booked as the problem went away the second day when there wasn't many guests staying at the hotel anymore. Finally, the location is poor due to the difficulty of entering/exiting the hotel from/to 105, but there's not much that can be done about that. Good luck if you're trying to exit making a left onto 105 South though. Remember to have fun! Woops, forgot another thing. The breakfast selection is lacking in variety. There's no eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. Only some bagels, toast, and I think one day they had waffles but I don't eat waffles so I wish they had more to offer. Oh yes, and another thing was the elevator wasn't working one of the days. I just keeping of additional items like this last one... there wasn't much we found to do in the city of Boone so I wished instead we would have stayed in Blowing Rock which was really nice and where we did everything anyways. They have a nice business district and lots of activities to do in their town. About the only thing happening in Boone were college kids hanging out at some bar next to the local Subway.
Pros: Exterior decor was nice as I especially appreciated the rocking chairs and places to sit and lounge outside on the wrap around balcony. Very nice. Costs were low so I appreciated that as well.
"Great hotel for the money and allow pets Very attractive"

No fruit for breakfast so bring your own.
Very good service and great value. Pets allowed and we had our Golden Retriever but I did not hear any others and the rooms were very clean.
There is a large wrap around porch with rocking chairs and beautiful rhododendron as well as a fountain out front.
Stayed in a king suite with a jetted tub. Bad idea. Tub is heart shaped, ok for new lovers, but it is not heated nor can be filled with hot water since it turn s cold quickly. There is NO couch just two chairs to sit on. Bathroom needs a lot of attention. The reason we picked La Quinta is for is open pets policy - great selling idea, but the first floor carpet looks like a war zone! The bed was terrible - it was like an elephant had used it for a long time - did not sleep well.
Be prepared when you want to leave via car to be able to turn only right which is not the way to most of the attractions.
Our stay at La Quinta was wonderful. This hotel is lovely. It was very clean and the staff was wonderful. It was close to many restaurants and stores. Great place to stay for a family. We enjoyed the indoor pool and also the clean, comfortable room. We will definitely return.
