"Wonderful extended stay"

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times, and they always exceed our expectations. We recently stayed for six weeks, and the staff were like family. Our housekeeper, Donna, was so sweet and fabulous and always looked after us. Melody was a tremendous help arranging and assisting in our stay. This hotel is fantastic for kids and pets. The hotel has a hot tub and a pool (which they keep pleasantly warm). There's a great space to walk dogs, and the porches are awesome for eating or just enjoying the nice mountain weather. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Boone. The fireplace suites are especially nice, and the Tempurpedic beds are very comfy. The staff is what really makes this hotel special.

This location in very nice and absolutely worth the price. I stay here regularly when in Boone and the service and cleanliness is always excellent! I travel extensively and would recommend this location to anyone. It is very accommodating for both travelling professionals or for families. The management and staff are very cordial and very friendly on every visit.

"A Shout for the Pet-friendly Hotel in Corporate America"
5 of 5 stars Reviewed Jul 26, 2014

My husband and I always tell each other we'd rather support the "Little Guy." Mom and Pop Restaurants. Our local plant lady and hardware store instead of Lowes. Anything instead of Walmart. But after booking into a local resort that did not have its act together AT ALL, we were caught looking for someplace reasonably pleasant to stay in beautiful Boone/Blowing Rock, NC last night, and it was, apparently, a weekend where there were both some big baseball tournament AND a horse show. Being neither horse not baseball people, we had not realized this, and everywhere was full. And no one wanted to take dogs anyway (we had our little puppy with us in his indoor kennel. Finally, through the help of a friendly desk clerk in another hotel, we stumbled over the LaQuinta, which has saved us on more than one occasion in other situations, from Seattle to Florida, and we officially like them. They took our little guy without a murmur and even patted him and made a fuss over him (and the zillion other dogs in the hotel). Our room was clean and did not smell of dogs (as the grubby hotel we opted out of had). It was pretty and had WONDERFUL beds. It was sparkling clean, also in contrast to the other "dog-friendly" hotel. It had everything it was supposed to (fridge, microwave, etc.), also in contrast to the hotel we'd left. It was spendy at this time of year, but it delivered. And didn't ask for pet fees or Internet charges (that was a new one on us at the other place). I notice dog people are friendly people, and everyone we met was interested in our dogs, as we were in theirs. People met each other's eyes and chatted about their pooches. The hotel had a nice grassy area where they dogs could accomplish the necessary and be cleaned up after. Breakfasts in these places are improving. We'd still like to support our locals businesses, but I wonder if these "little guys" would realize that one of the reasons the big guys are beating them is because they do a better job of doing what they're supposed to do. Often, they charge less (and are no doubt able to, of course). But it has to be possible that some of corporate America is actually what it says it is, and this particular La Quinta did a great job for these guests and their pooch.

We were graciously greeted by the front desk manager, Erica, on our arrival to La Quinta. We had a king sized bed with amazing amenities. Most of the guests had pets and they were all well behaved & respected by the staff. Every employee was friendly & helpful. We will return...

"Great location and Pet Friendly"
4 of 5 stars Reviewed Jul 20, 2014

The location is great; close to town and to Rt. 105 and other highways. The main draw for us to stay at this hotel was that it is "pet friendly". I think just about every guest had a dog! It was really cool to see so many people traveling with their pets!! Our dog loved it! The breakfast had a good selection. The staff was friendly. One minor annoyance was that we weren't told that the cleaning staff would not service your room if a dog was inside (regardless of if he was in a crate or not). One day, we left our dog in the room for a few hours and then came back and got him and took him with us for the rest of day. When we returned in the evening, our room had not been serviced. We called the front desk and they quickly delivered fresh towels to our room. If we had known, we have told the desk, or the cleaning staff, that we were leaving with the dog. Another annoyance, NOT the hotel's fault, but the guests' fault....please people....if you are traveling with your dog...PLEASE clean up after it poops! I can't believe how many people just let their dogs poop all over and don't pick it up!! The hotel provides free bags and an area especially for the dogs to go, plus a garbage can right there. Yet folks let their dogs poop, right where everyone walks...in fact...even right in front of the hotel door where folks walked in it and drove in it. Come on people...get some class and pick it up!! Otherwise, hotels will no longer want to host our wonderful pets.
