I live in Katy, Texas and my husband and I was attending UT graduation on May 18, 2013. Therefore, we made reservations at the LaQuinta north I-35. Upon arrival, every one was extremely pleasant event though alot of people was arriving for UT's graduations commencement ceremony. The staff was very helpful and nice. The staff made me feel like they actually cared about stay and me as a person. I had a wonderful experience. I called down to the desk around 5:00 a.m. and I was greeted by a gentlemen. He was not sleepy or cranky. He sounded wide awake and he was. I felt even more comfortable knowing every one was on their jobs even in the earliest time of the morning. This place was awesome.
The hair dryer in the bathroom had brown stuff on it. I didn't touch it.
There was no microwave or refrigerator, but there are spaces in the room where the appliances used to be or should be.
Service was excellent and accommodating.
Speedy checkin and checkout. Clean room and bath. Routine LQ Breakfast. Quiet location. Easy off and on major highways of north Austin. Very convenient to location of business meeting. Will stay here again.
Everyone at check-in was friendly with my dog. The next morning I left and went to work like I have done at so many hotels. My dog is 15 years old and sleeps all day. He was fed and walked, back in bed and asleep before I left for work. At noon I always return and walk him and give him a treat. I returned and did so. As I was leaving, the manager Sam tells me I cannot leave my dog unattended and that the pet agreement states that. It did not! It suggests that if your dog has separation anxiety that you do not leave them unattended. I asked him if he had any complaints that my dog was barking or howling and he said no. My dog has traveled all over the state of Texas and Alaska. We have never had any accidents or separation anxiety issues.
I had to check out and returned to work an hour late. It was a good thing that I was able to take my dog to work with me and leave him in the parking garage in the car. It was a cool day and I had to check on him every couple of hours. I will never stay at this hotel again.
I travel to Austin 3 or 4 times a year for weekend getaways with the wife. We always stay here and have never been disappointed. I have been staying here on both business and family trips for the past 8 or 9 years and have always had a great experience. The price is right, the location is great for shopping, dining and travel into downtown. I have stayed at much more expensive hotels in Austin, but I can honestly say, there is nothing wrong with this hotel.
