I am a frequent Business traveler and stay at LQ's most of the time all over the country; I truly hate coming to Augusta because my company uses LQ hotels and really can't stand this corporate owned location. If you stay on the ground floor during spring or summer, expect mildew smell - I do not know where the smell goes in the dry fall or winter, probably lies dormant in the rugs. Bring LQ your own WiFi source or try to reserve the 2nd floor "conference room suite" above the office if possible, at least that way you can connect to the nearby Starbucks internet to avoid taking 5 minutes for a page to load on the hotel system. They recently updated the router (desk person stated), so now it doesn't need constant resetting to get it to work at all. The free continental breakfast is the WORST provided by any of the LQ fleet locations. Usually dry cereal, yogurt, packaged bagels, sometimes not too old of banana/apple, coffee, juice - that's it. I will say it is clean interiors, but don't touch the building exterior or elevator interiors with bare hands. Bed is good, shower is hot, vanity area is clean (I usually don't drink "in the room" coffee because you never know how the pot is cleaned - but that's a habit anywhere I go). The staff is tenured and friendly and will help where they can. Hold on to your kids and don't drive out from under the entrance canopy without looking to the left as the Starbucks drive thru customers are flying past the "shared" driveway. Sometimes they'll park right in the lane blocking your exit access while they run quickly inside and of course profusely apologize as they get back in their car. Don't stay here if you can stay anywhere else. On the positive side there are some good restaurants nearby.

We love La Quinta and it is our first preference when looking for a hotel because it is pet and family friendly and most locations have a hot breakfast. However, this place should not be allowed to call itself a La Quinta. First we had a difficulty getting our belongings up to our room on the third floor because the staff told us there wasn't an elevator in our building and that there was no way to get to our room using an elevator. It was very late, so we took their word for it. It wasn't until checking out the next morning that we realized that all of the buildings were attached and we could have used the elevator in one building to cart our luggage up to our floor and then just use the walkways to get to the right building. When we reached our room the light switch did not turn on any lights. We were able to find a light switch for the bathroom and discovered that the lights that go to the switch had been unplugged. We were not given a password for the free wi-fi, so we tried to call down to the front desk to get the password only to find that our room phone had no buttons and no phone cord, so basically just a dummy phone. Despite the fact that the room was supposed to have a microwave and mini fridge it had neither. The breakfast was horrible with stale bagels, a very limited selection of muffins, microwavable pancakes and cold cereal. To top it all off when I went to take a shower the next morning a dirty wash cloth fell off the top of the shower curtain on to my head. My husband said it was the dirtiest LaQuinta he had ever stayed in.

"Didn't love it, but didn't hate it. Decent for the value."

My friend and I frequent Augusta regularly but this was our first over night trip. We chose La Quinta because it had some of the best (recent) reviews of hotels we found online in the nearby area. For our budget we were satisfied. The beds were very comfy so we spent the majority of our overnight stay sleeping, and neither of us wanted to wake up in the morning. The air conditioners also worked great in both of our rooms and we didn't notice any of the reported bug issues in other review during our stay. However, we did have a few minor complaints. We prebooked online several days in advance and chose a preferred check in time of between 12-3 (hoping to check in at 12 or 1) with notifications of when the rooms were ready. By 4 we still had not heard anything so we decided to try and check in anyways. We arrived at 430 and as we were checking in we got the notifications our rooms were ready. It was a slight inconvience because by 5 it began raining so we did not get to use the pool like we wanted. Also the sink in one of our rooms did not want to drain and there was a little dirt/mildew? on the wall and shower curtain in that bathroom. The other room was fine though and we didn't not notice that problem. Our last complaint was that one of the towels and bath mat seemed to have little faded black stains on them that appeared not to be washed out or bleached. Overall though we were pleased with our stay. The bed appeared very clean and it was so comfy we kept sleeping through breakfast. There's a good chance we will stay here again if we don't find a place with a fitness center at a similar price.

We reserved a non-smoking room on hotels.com, when we arrived all non-smoking rooms were full. Stayed anyway as it was late. Very dirty and run down. Worst maintained Laquita I have ever been to. It is unfortunate as we typically like this chain of hotels.

Since I travel with a pet, I always like LaQuinta for there pet policy. Room was clean and comfortable with a very nice bed and TV. Cleanliness was average but nothing to panic about. Desk staff was friendly but slow (only one person and there were several guests trying to register) I waited about 20 mins. to sign in with a reservation. Bathtub drain was a little slow so I showered standing in a bit of water. Elevator was old and smelly and made some scary noises. Overall nothing was such a problem to override the value and convenience.
