"Friendly and Economical, But Past Its Prime"

I've become a fan of La Quinta Inns, but this one is showing its age.
Service was great and I got a good night's sleep, but the whole property was a little like the house your old maid great-aunt has been living in for years. Paint was chipped, fixtures were corroded, the room mirror was cracked, some of the tub caulking was curling up, and the bed and bath linens were approaching threadbare.
Sulphur is a good jumping-off place for oil, rigging and construction workers, but vacationers would do well to drive a few miles east or west on I-10 for some more contemporary lodging choices.
The Staff at this hotel is superb. The Grounds are beautiful. This Hotel is convenient. 200 Characters is too many...!!! I do not have the time to do this. I really liked my stay and will probably stay here again.
We(12 of us) traveled to Sulpher, La. for a weekend of Crawfish and Casino's. The location was perfect, just off the highway and very close to some great local resturants. We decide to Bar-B-Que on Saturday night and noticed the pool had not yet opened. But the Staff of La Quinta went above and beyond all our expectations. They opened the pool area and pulled out a table and some chairs so we could enjoy ourselfs outside of the pool area. We were very pleased for the great attitude the staff had.
We Will come back...!!!

My wife and I stayed here on our trip back home. It is an older property and looks it. The door to the room sticks when trying to open or close so you cannot be quiet doing either. The walkways are in need of cleaning from animal feces near the second floor ice and vending machines. The room was clean. The mattresses on the beds apparently are never rotated as I had to roll uphill to rollover from one side to the other. However, the bed was comfortable. The Brightside breakfast was basic. I guess the cheaper the hotel rates the cheaper the breakfast. Definitely not near as nice as what we experienced on Prien Road in Lake Charles the week before. For the price this is an ok La Quinta. We only stayed there because the other was full.
"A little noisy in certain rooms but very comfortable."

This is a little different but I really need to tell my story. I stayed here on a trip to Texas, going and returning since it was comfortable, clean & the front desk clerks were so kind. However, on my second stay, i wittnessed something that absolutely appalled me and others waiting to check in. The clerks computer was pulling up one corporate price but the man insisted on a cheaper price. She attempted to explain to him that her manager wasnt there and she had to charge what the computer was pulling up. Over $4.00, he degraded her (in front of everyone there). He said some mean and hateful things while she continued to attempt to help him, all the while calling him "sir" and treating him with respect. Personally, my show of respect would have been gone. It took all I had not to intervene. That man took it too far. I guess he took the room because she showed him on the map where he would be located. Although she was almost in tears when he left, she was very kind and proceeded with professionalism. My opinion: no one person has any right treating another human being that way. I do not remember the clerks name, but I would like to say, "Kudos to her"! My stay was Monday, March 11th of this year. If i travel that route again, I will attempt to stay at this location because she made me realize there are some good people still out there.
