Spent 4 days on business there. Nice size room, kingsize, fridge and microwave, flat screen TV. Nice table for laptop and connections, reclining chair.
Clean room, no smells. Good house keeping during the stay.
Beware of the coffee maker! It comes with a disposable holder for the coffee pad. just after it finishes brewing your coffee, and you are ready to retrieve your cup, it spits out a small nasty spray of steam and boiling water. I tried to turn the tabs, no avail, it keeps on spitting. Once you know it, no big deal, it just leaves some water on the table, so remove any papers close to it.
Out of 4 days, door card did not work 2 times. Annoying if you arrive at the door with your hands full, then hike to the reception to have your card re-keyed.
Breakfast: the best thing about it is next door Denny's. Well it's OK if you are in a hurry. Good coffee though, grab one!
My only problem is its location. It's not centrally located. If you're looking for something near downtown close to everything, this isn't the place. Even though it says it's located in New Orleans, it's actually in Metairie, a suburb 15-20 minutes from downtown. If you have a car rental, it shouldn't be a problem. Bus service is not very good in this area and unavailable late at night. There's not much going on around in this area or anything that can be reached walking.
However, it's a very decent hotel. The accommodations and the room were very good. The Denny's restaurant next door is very convenient and an affordable option to have a quick meal.
it will be hard to get up in the morning. Thank you to the great staff that opened up the breakfast bar on hour earlier from their normal time. Housekeeping was always on time and the rooms were up to date and super clean! Great location, 10 minutes from Bourbon Street and all your local shopping off of Veteran's road. This is a must stay and I will return!!!
i had stayed here in september that i specified the same motel. It was in a great location and everyone was so helpful. we stayed 2 days and would have stayed longer but had to get back to kentucky. we plan on going back and hopfully have the same room.
After a cruise we decided to stay at this La Quinta because we had good experiences at other La Quintas during our travels. This Inn is conveniently located on Veterans Street which was helpful for us. There are a number of different types if restaurants nearby as well. We could get downtown NO pretty quickly as well. The room itself wasn't the cleanest we have stayed in. The bathroom floor needed a good cleaning and daily housekeeping just threw new towels on the sink and didn't empty an overflowing waste paper basket which made us suspicious of how well the place is ever really cleaned. Even though the price was pretty competitive for the area, we would probably stay elsewhere in the area next time.
