Stay at the La Quinta Inn Texarkana and you are in two places at once! Texarkana straddles two states, and at the bi-state Post Office, stand with one foot in Arkansas and the other in Texas. That means twice the service and twice the fun with convenient access to popular attractions...see more of both states, including Spring Lake Park and Wright Patman Lake, and the Border City Bandits Hockey. Hope AR, the birth place of President Clinton is less than a half hour drive from the hotel.
The La Quinta Inn Texarkana has plenty of truck parking available. Guests awaken mornings to the aroma of Belgian waffles drifting in from a Free Bright Side BreakfastTM served daily. We have a sparkling outdoor swimming pool and free use of an off-premise fitness center.
Rooms are loaded with amenities including free wireless high-speed Internet access, a coffee maker, iron w/ironing board, hair dryer and more.

"We will be back!"

After reading all the reviews we still decided to stay since it was a pet friendly hotel. Well, glad I made my own mind up. Yes it is an older hotel next to the highway, but it was in excellent condition, and the staff was extremely friendly. I don't go to hotels for tv or its reception so we did not have complaints about the TV. The breakfast was very nice. We enjoyed the waffles and juice for my husband and I enjoyed the yogurt and hard boiled eggs. While there was not a "restaurant" next to the hotel, there were plenty of places close to go get food. The front desk even gave us directions to place to eat. My husband and I almost decided to stay another night because there was so much to do in the area around the hotel. This will not be our last time visiting this hotel.
This is an older facility that has outside entrances to the rooms. The room we were in had been refurbished and was nice and clean. The A/C unit worked well and the room also had a microwave and refrigerator. The Wi-Fi worked well. They actually had high definition TV, not low resolution signal on a high def screen. We were on the side of the hotel facing the Interstate, so had some traffic noise. The bed had some squeaks in the springs, but was comfortable, not saggy. The electric switches were old, felt loose and there was only one outlet available, which was under the desk. The breakfast was minimal, waffles, toast, cereal. We went elsewhere as they did not have anything that I could eat on my carb restricted diet. Overall, just an average motel. Worth the cost for an inexpensive, but clean place to sleep, watch a little TV and catch up on e-mail.
We stayed here in August on the way back from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and our trip to Europe. First we stopped at the nearby Petsmart. Then we drove back to the first La Quinta we saw. It was the Texas La Quinta on State Line Avenue with exterior corridors. We checked in and canceled the reservation we had for the La Quinta on the other side of the street in Arkansas. We didn?t want to have to cross the Texas state line again tomorrow. We couldn?t find a steakhouse that was open so we went to dinner at a nearby Burger King and watched the rain pour down in the parking lot. At least the La Quinta Texarkana in Arkansas had a Denny's Restaurant right next door in an adjacent parking lot. This Texas La Quinta Texarkana had nothing, and we had to drive in the rain. They also had a bizarre idea of where to put pet rooms. They were always at the bottom of a staircase in a darkened exterior corridor with an overhang. At least the grounds had some grass near the pool for the dog's walk.
This was our first stay at a La Quinta. We had reserved on line and at check in, asked for my name and handed me a key. Quick and pleasant. Room was nice with a flat screen. Bath was small, but clean. Comfortable bed. We usually get a early start and were surprised to find the breakfast all setup and ready to go. Waffles are a bonus.
LaQuinta is the place to be with a pet. So pet friendly. The room was very clean and sheets on bed were high quality, crisp and comfortable. Very comfy bed too. Only disappointment was no refrigerator. They have rooms with fridge, but not all rooms. Nice area to walk the dog too.
