"Staff extremely helpful"

Both the check-in staff and the cleaning staff went out of their way to be helpful and polite. The front desk clerk helped us find just the right place for dinner and also remembered a question from the night before to share personalized information for our family when we checked out. The lady who was keeping the breakfast area stocked and clean was very kind and helpful to a young boy, who was struggling to get milk and cereal for breakfast, then praised him for accepting the help. Everyone we encountered was polite and smiled, never seemed to mind helping us out if we had a question. Very enjoyable!
"Didn't honor my reservation, recommended I start walking"

I had reserved a roomed at this hotel two weeks out. On the day of my arrival after a long day of air travel, I arrived late at night and was told that they were overbooked and they did not have a room for me. Since I had just been dropped off there from a cab service, I did not have a vehicle to go drive anywhere else. The desk clerk recommended that I start walking down the street and I could probably find a motel down the road with vacancy. He could not tell me the names of any other hotels close by and was unable to help me find another place to stay. Unbelievable!!! Unless you're onsite to verify vacancy, I strongly recommend making your hotel reservations somewhere else that actually honors reservations.
This is a very old property, located conveniently near I-25. The rooms were clean and look like they may have been updated in the last couple of years. The staff was courteous - and beyond that I don't have anything positive to say about this hotel. We were told on arrival that our requested room had been overbooked and that we had been put in a nonsmoking King-bedded room with microwave and refrigerator, and that we would receive a 20% discount off the quoted price. Well, we didn't smoke in it, but many others obviously had, because it smelled like a smoking room throughout the 2-night stay. In addition, throughout both nights, the smoke detector on the wall flashed a brilliant white light every 20 seconds. We let management know after the first night and were told they would look into it. My husband had surgery that day and I didn't return to the room until after 10:00 that night, to find every light on in the room. I had brought back some food that needed refrigeration, then realized that neither the fridge nor the microwave was working, though both were hooked into the outlet. The refrigerator smelled like it had had something that had spoiled in it (terrible). As soon as I turned out the lights, the flashing began again. When I complained in the morning I was given a $10. discount off my bill, which had a third night charged to it, and only one night discounted. Because of the age of this property, there really is not a place dedicated to a breakfast room - the breakfast area was located on either side of the check-in area, and was narrow and packed with people. I do not recommend this property!
We decided to stay at this hotel because when we read reviews, there were not bad reviews from other patrons. This hotel was also very close to public transportation, which we ended up not using because we decided to rent a car. Really no complaints but it would be nice to see more options with their breakfast like whole grain/whole wheat breads besides the white breads and sugar free waffle syrup and reduced fat cream cheese (for all us 'health consious' patrons!

Worked really well for me. Was a 20 minute walk to the appointment I needed to be at in the morning. Was a 5 minute walk to the RTD Light Rail Station, and $2,25 got you downtown.
Even though it was near I-25, it was quiet. (Did have a problem with a car alarm going off during the night, but you can't really blame the hotel for that).
Room was in good shape, nice little breakfast in morning. Though I didn't use it, the pool was popular, and looked good.
